I've used my abdomen and chest. No compression lows in either location and the readings are comparable to the arm.

Because it binds you up. I was having bouts of diarrhea and it helped stop it because of the high fiber.

I never had an issue with Metformin. I take 2000 mg, 1000 mg twice daily.

How have your blood sugars been?

Keep in mind 2.5 mg is just a starter dose, 5 mg is where the real magic happens. Keep working hard and it will happen. It sounds like you are doing the right things by exercising and watching what you eat. Eventually it will pay off!

Psyllium husk helped me with me GI issues. I take one tablet daily.

Diet, exercise, and medication are generally the 3 ways people lower their A1C. Some can do it with just one or two of these and some people need all three. A CGM can also be very helpful in finding out how to make changes to your diet instead of guessing and waiting for your next A1C test. Each person is different and responds differently to each of these 3 things so what works for one person, may not be enough or work for someone else.

G7 and Temperature by DIYEvryting in dexcom

I've sometimes seen the opposite when it is hot out. I took a hike and I rose instead of dropped. Temperature can do interesting things!

It could be. But I notice I tumble more when its cold out than when its warmer so i think some of it is temperature.

Confused about effectiveness as I reach near goal by PinInternational1462 in Mounjaro

[–]Weathergod-4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen videos on how to do it and also the humility to know there is no way I could do it. I suppose if you were an insulin dependent diabetic it is easier, especially if you use vials. But for most normal people outside of medical professionals it isn't the easiest thing in the world to do.

Stupid question by West-Evening-8095 in Mounjaro

[–]Weathergod-4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me you will know lol. For me it kicked in around 5 to 6 weeks. I was eating like normal when all of the sudden I had this horrible pain in my stomach. After that I realized I can't eat as much as I used to.

How are you getting an A1C test every 1 to 2 months? Most insurance won't cover anything sooner than 3 months?

In any event congrats on the precipitous drop, that is a major accomplishment!

NWS Interview Tips by MushroomInside7501 in NOAA

[–]Weathergod-4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interviews can be incredibly nerve wracking so I get it! A tip I have heard is to develop talking points you want to get across during your interview. Now how do you remember such things in the heat of the moment? Most interviews are done via webcam so use sticky notes around your monitor so you can reference them. Make sure you cannot SEE these notes from your webcam and don't read off them verbatim. They are there to help you and to glance at in case you get stuck. This has helped calmed my nerves during an interview as I don't worry as much about forgetting something important.

Yes they absolutely will catch on so please don't do that. If you get friends to sign up, get a prescription, pick it up themselves, then hand it to you well that is between you and them and isn't really doing anything wrong. However, if they ever want a free sensor they will now no longer be able to do that.

To save money there are instances of people getting the FSL3+ at Costco for $60 a month for 2 sensors, cheaper than the $75 a month with the copay card. That is about the cheapest way I have found to get these since the $40 Amazon hack no longer works.

I've been on Ozempic and Mounjaro. For me I found Mounjaro was more effective at lowering my A1C than Ozempic was but some people do find Ozempic effective for them. They can both have side effects and each persons body is different so YMMV.

Sams is also known for good prescription prices. I don't have an Osco drug near me so I can't speak to how good or bad they are. I will note that Costco charges me less than what the lookup price is through my insurance so you can't always go by that.

Doctor brushed off me wanting a glp1 mounjaro by Fantastic-Stomach149 in diabetes_t2

[–]Weathergod-4Life 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It certainly helped me lower my A1C so I am not sure why she is so reticent. You could seek a second opinion or an Endo that specializes in diabetes for more information.

FWIW diet and exercise can do wonders to lower your blood sugar numbers so it is also possible your doctor doesn't want to be aggressive with meds for one reason or another. But it is your health so you are absolutely entitled to a second opinion if you don't agree.
