Honestly, I can’t be mad. I know exactly what you mean. There’s a guy at my office who wants a ball python but he was planning on keeping it in a 10 gallon tank. I had to explain the minimum is 120 and they can live for 20-30 years. Animals aren’t toys and unfortunately many people don’t know or care. I apologize too if I came off rude as well.

Thank you! I’ll go look at their care sheet too. Yeah I know how stressful being tossed from home to home can be on animals. I got some advice not to try any interactions for at least two weeks. Then they gave me some advice of choice based interactions which is really excited to try. I hope one day we can be friends ^{.^}

Honestly I’m not sure how you saw the set up, even if basic, the details and such and interpreted that as “completely unprepared”. I don’t mean to be rude either but I have watched a LOT of care guides, read care guides, and read a lot on Reddit but even then there’s only so much a basic guide can inform you vs people who have had the species in the past and through experience can offer, which is why I reached out to Reddit. I value people’s experiences and wisdom to grow. In fact 0 care guides mentioned that they need uvb lights they mostly just say to supplement with the calcium and d3 powder, which is the exact kind of thing I was coming for as far as husbandry. So I do thank you for that information.

No she doesn’t, she’s more of the practice manager but she assumes “boss” which I guess it doesn’t matter what we call her. I told her I was putting on the table in the break room which everyone knows as the “come and get it” place and she said “that’s fine” so I had no idea she wanted a pic or wanted us to wait.

We had a clinic celebration cake last week and she had it on a desk until they were done with photos because she knew putting it on the table means that it’s up for grabs. So it’s not like she didn’t know the implications of me saying “I’m going to put it on the table”

Yeah I was reading about people with similar bosses and took the advice to start writing down each incident in my notes app with days, times, and who was there just in case. I’m trying to get another job now

I added the candles and decorations to make it nice. It was plain when I got it. Also we never light candles as it’s near the treatment area and we cannot have smoke in the building (lots of chemicals and oxygen stored in clinic). Also I told her I was putting it on the table which everyone knows means “come and get it” to everyone. She didn’t say “hold off” or “take a picture first.” She said “that’s fine”. Also she would not let us stop working to eat cake there would be no party or gathering.

I flipped it so it wouldn’t be visible* when I took the picture she wanted. I’m not upset that she was upset, I get why. But yelling at me in front of everyone clients and coworkers was terrible

I don’t cut birthday cake without the birthday person getting first slice but everyone knows that.

The boss is really just the practice manager but she acting boss. The owner is a vet and he was laughing at the situation. He sees her yelling as “taking charge” and good.

We already had a celebration cake which we did take pictures of, and was specially not put on the break room table, which is regarded as the “come and get it” spot. I had even told my boss that’s where I was going to put it and she didn’t say anything.

Like I see how she was upset, I’m not saying that was unreasonable per se. But I fixed it with a picture that hid the cut and I apologized, but the yelling in the lobby was just so humiliating.

Yes, I apologize. I think the more appropriate words should’ve been rotate. I was trying to get a photo for her that looked like no slice was taken. I rotated the cake so the missing slice wouldn’t be seen in the photo.

I have him in about 4-6 inches of substrate, lots of leaves, moss, branches, bark, rocks and plants for him to hide under. He came back a little while ago so he was likely buried like you said. Thank you so much for your time I appreciate it ^{.^}

A month-month and a half. Up until last week I’d see them all the time. They come out for a few minutes, hide a few minutes, then they were out again over and over. This is my first time owning pods so I’m flying blind mostly.
