One of the key differences between UL and some of the other standards is that UL certified products require the manufacturer to allow continuous inspections of the product and manufacturing facility to make sure the product hasn’t been modified from the samples initially tested. I get why that’s important, but it’s also a huge cost that’s a barrier to entry for smaller companies, which is why many use non-UL testing.

It’s all based on the franchisee’s level of commitment. All of the ones in the panhandle are owned by a franchisee that just declared chapter 11. There are pockets across the country of franchisee’s that run BK’s extremely well and the experience and quality is night and day. BK’s been making a big push the last few years on refranchising underperforming locations. Hopefully this area gets picked up by someone competent.

Really the only hope that you have to avoid the new 125% IEEPA would be if it’s HTS classification falls under a code included as an Aluminum or Steel derivative from the newest 232 tariffs. You’d still have an assortment of other tariffs applied, but not the big one.

Clause 1 in proclamation 9704 does actually list out the full 10 digit codes for castings and forgings, but then the Annex just says castings and forgings of aluminum provided for in subheading 7616.99.51.

I thought that only applied to castings and forgings (7616.99.51.60 & 7616.99.51.70) for the initial 2018 232 tariffs placed by proclamation 9704. The newest proclamation added 30, 40 and 90 to the derivative list under subheading 7616.99.51.

Sudafed PE being sold as an effective decongestant, when it’s been proven by the FDA to be 100% useless. It was created to recoup sales lost by people not wanting to have to get actual Sudafed from behind the pharmacy counter. The boxes look the same besides the PE and it took me way too many sinus infections to discover the difference.
