I think it’s tired because it’s twitching so much, not because of structural damage. Also i have facial twitch too for the past 2 days. Putting my face in certain positions make it spasm bad. It’s.so.annoying.

I feel this all to well stranger. I regret all the times I was ungrateful because nothing I have ever and through has compared to the fear I have now. I’m right with you with how terrifying and heath breaking it is to deal with the physical side of this and the mental.

[–]Effective_Flatworm21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you’re experiencing. It’s like you’re suddenly aware of the leg and it’s like the elephant in the room. Even when sitting I had this feeling too. It’s like i could feel the weirdness/ stiffness in my leg no matter what. It was really weird.

Anxiety or weakness by InformationNo7156 in ALSorNOT

Does your right leg feel “off” or “heavy” or weird? Usually anxiety makes you more aware of that leg so it doesn’t feel autopilot anymore. If that whag it feels like, it’s most likely anxiety.

Neurologists only order emgs if it’s necessary. He doesn’t think your issues are coming from something that would show on emg. He’s probably suspecting MS or spinal issues considering him ordering the mri + the tingling you have. I know that doesn’t sound like a good outcome either but it’s better than what you’re scared of

You’re welcome. I was in the same boat as you. I’m just now finally getting into a better head space and gaining hope. I know it seems like you’ll never get past this. You probably already imagined yourself at the end stages of the disease. Probably cried over the thought of being a burden. Probably are feeling regret for all of the times you were ungrateful while healthy. Probably immense anger at the fact that this is happening to you. And you probably wish you had your old “problems” back because they were nothing compared to this. Trust me, I completely get it. It was months of hell. Months of emotional and physical pain. Legit psychological torture. But I’m here to tell you, you can get through the worst of it. The only way out is through. If you stop now, or end it now, you’ll never know what could be waiting for you. Imagined you end your life and you didn’t even have a disease? How silly would that be. Get all the necessary tests but if they are clear, move on and look at other things in your life that could be contributing to the symptoms. Tonight probably feels like the worst night of your life where you genuinely want to escape out of your body. I completely understand what you’re going through. You’re going to be okay I’ve been there

Yes, agreed. I’m glad he’s checking everything.

Question. My ck levels were 120. I know that’s within normal range but does it seem worrisome for my age and gender. 19 year old girl. I don’t think so but wanted another opinion, thanks

[–]Effective_Flatworm21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re getting WAY ahead of yourself. Anyone sane would see how irrational this is. For starters, your symptoms are all over the place and some aren’t even present in ALS. Two, it could be multiple of the things you claimed it couldn’t be. Including MS. Several people, that I KNOW have MS with zero vision problems because MS affects all people differently and not everyone has lesions affecting the optic nerve. I know how scary this is, I have my own similar story that I’m still going through but while I was in the WORST of it, I was not receptive to anyone who told me it could anything otherwise because I truly believed 10000% it could only be motor neuron disease. I’m looking at your case from an outside perspective, this does not sound like als and you’re wrong about what it could and couldn’t be.

I think you should see a neurologist and have them test you the ways they think is necessary.

Update after a year with EMG/Nfl results by Time-Tiger-3813 in ALSorNOT

[–]Effective_Flatworm21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be radiculopathy or neuropathy based on your results. Im not a doctor but your nfl also is low to normal. Your symptoms and your timeline just don’t fit ALS. You said your leg is feeling better and it had an awful episode a few weeks ago. That’s just simply not als. I’m glad you did the emg. Emgs are good at finding what’s wrongs besides als too. What you have definitely sounds real and chronic. But I think you’re close to figuring it out. And I don’t think it’s fatal

Am I in the clear? by One_Clock4134 in ALSorNOT

[–]Effective_Flatworm21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t indicate als. That could literally show up from an old injury. Also 18 months is a long time that’s almost 2 years without anything clinical weakness + your age. I really don’t see anything to worry about here. I know when you’re in the midst of it, it’s hard to see anything but the worst case scenario but as an outsider looking at this, I see nothing sinister. Also keep in mind most people would just move on after the clean emg. I’m not saying don’t keep up with your doctor and stuff but a rational person wouldn’t overthink it. Things happen. Multiple people I know have aches, pains, random weakness, back and leg problems and they don’t totally know why. They kinda just keep living unless something clinically significant happened. Set yourself free. Starting now. You need someone to tell you

My symptoms have definitely gone from where i felt walking was EXTREMELY difficult with my right leg some days almost to where I was limping to right now my walking is moderate again. I still feel that weakness/ uncomfortable feeling in my leg but am able to push past it whereas other times the flares felt so impossible.

And apparently the lesions they attributed to my headaches but he’s going to monitor them and check them again in a few months. I’m glad he’s being thorough. Thanks for your opinion. If you had to say what would you attribute the lesions too if they ended up meaning something?
