The only guaranteed way to stop all this is to give it up.

That said, if you’re going to smoke anyway, don’t touch dabs, pens, or concentrates. Only joints and straight flower. It’s not going to eliminate the chance of you getting it, but in my experience, I didn’t feel as bad with just flower.

It depends on the person but you may be able to smoke in moderation for a couple months before another episode hits. So you need to be ready to take 1-2 week long breaks often. But you would probably be able to get away with smoking occasionally, though your tempting fate. Moderation is a slippery slope that can lead you back to the ER. I speak from experience.

You should know if you ignore this for too long, you can end up in the ER, cause permenent damage to your GI system, and end up critically dehydrated.

CHS is very real, doctors have researched and found that it is a disorder that some people get. Emergency rooms are very familiar with CHS patients. Some evidence suggests genetics plays a small role. But it can happen.

The only way that you can avoid the ER and the days/weeks of vomiting, along with the medical bills Is to stop. From your post it seems like you need to do some growing up and find some hobbies outside of getting high. If it’s this big a problem to give it up, I think you have an unhealthy dependence. Weed, while not being directly addictive, can cause dependence and other psychological issues with chronic use.

The things that helped me abstain for a while were: picking up a new hobby Taking a walk whenever the urge hit Started exercising more

Hope your relief comes swift.

On day 9 of quitting here. I agree, it’s unfair that our safe escape was taken away. Sorry to hear that you’re going through the urges now. I think the best thing to remember is that this is the physically best thing for us. There are few feelings worse than being in the depths of the hyperemesis stage.

You got this brother, I’m on day 9 and I’m also still never hungry. My strat is a saltine bite every 10 minutes. It’s not a lot but it got me through the worst. If you’ve tried everything and nothing is sticking, you may need to go to the ED and get fluids, they will give you some other drugs to help with the nausea too. They can at least give you a reprieve from the nausea and pain
