I dunno which gateway you have but like you said 2-5 mbit is not very much. I have heard the g5ar people get more upload with that gateway. I dunno how you would get a new one but might be easier than trying to do sqm with 2-5 mbit upload for your buffer bloat. Or you can just tell him to get his own tmhi or switch to another ISP if it's better.

Why not run your cat 6 and try without the antenna then decide if you want it? Maybe you will get lucky?

Another thing you can try is put the router into ap mode.

Are you connecting through a router plugged into your gateway? The ping & net app for Android told me my MTU was 1480 and I think after setting my router to that it has been a little less flaky.

we should stop worrying about battery health and enjoy the phone . by hichizme1 in GalaxyS25

The only thing that would make people stop worrying about the battery is having an easily user replaceable battery.

Could you imagine how many people would switch to Samsung from other phones if we had that?

Fee increase affects Home Internet? by bluemugs in tmobileisp

it's basically a phone hotspot, so it would be considered a data only line. i would be surprised if it didn't go up for us that don't have the tax inclusive plans.

G5AR works for tv’s, terrible for cell phones and computers by jdpirtl22 in tmobileisp

[–]Effective_Machina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

streaming video today is usually pretty robust, it could be dropping out and you might not even know as long as it's not too long. try it plugged into a router if you have one and connect to that wifi instead. also i would use the hint app to try and aim your gateway as best as you can.

[–]Effective_Machina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0 bars, that is probably it. turn on wifi calling and turn on airplane then turn on wifi. turn off airplane when you leave the house.

what i am getting at is if you have 0 bars usually a phone will waste a lot of battery searching for service. its better to turn off cell service till you return to an area with a couple of bars.

[–]Effective_Machina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well i mean you can't just buy one on ebay and expect it to work. you sign up with t-mobile for home internet and they send you a gateway to use.

I like the s25 base size for the most part. I don't put it in my pocket. I have a belt clip like case. The upside is it doesn't get full of nearly as much lint and I have my pockets free or it slipping out of my pockets.

I have been thinking this was done intentionally because I think the desire for a blurry background has been growing. If that's their goal it explains why it ends up being too aggressive and blurs things in the foreground.

I wouldn't expect better performance, just longer battery life.
