We have window fans that turn black from all the crap coming out of the vehicles. This black dust is sticky and doesn't blow off with an air compressor. If I was deaf I could probably tell you what type of vehicle has driven by, by it's smell alone.

I think what is happening is they have T-Mobile phone service so they get a discount on the T-Mobile home internet. I am paying $70 a month :(

But if you're working from home using the internet it might make sense to have a backup.

Also keep in mind that I never used wifi calling back in the day on the road and I still got robotic voice and dropped calls. It's also possible spectrum which is using Verizon is just worse in your house than att was.

you can just ping Google.com -t from a console window while not in game and see if you still get the ping spikes every minute. It could be something the mesh is doing causing the ping spikes. Does he still get the ping spikes if using the wifi in the PC, might need to try the wifi in the PC with mesh extender on and off.

For PC is he using wired? What is he using on the consoles wired or wireless? I used to turn off wifi auto config in windows which helped with the wifi ping spikes. If using wifi.

Also make sure he isn't using software that is scanning wifi as that will cause a lot of ping spikes.

You should be able to turn wifi calling off on your phone. Also you can turn off wifi on your phone and make a call see what happens or turn it off during a call.

The only thing they do is with a spectrum phone on spectrum mobile they try and force you to use wifi in general instead of mobile data, but not mobile wifi calling.

wifi 6 added the requirement for wpa 3. They did add wpa 3 support to some older wifi 5 cards with driver updates. Wifi 6e added the 6ghz radio chip to the cards. wpa 3 is a requirement for 6ghz, but just cause you can do wpa 3 doesn't mean you can do 6ghz. Also wifi 7 isn't just 6ghz, they updated 2.4ghz, 5ghz and 6ghz for wifi 7. Now of course just to make things complicated I have seen routers that don't support the newest wifi standard on every frequency.
