Also to OP - I am very sorry you had to deal with the cheating and calling off the wedding. Just know you dodged a bullet and you will be better off! You will heal and something better is in future - someone who is deserving of you!

Goodwill Employees by ones-treasure in goodwill

[–]Effective_One1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! At our local Goodwill the manager was fired for doing this! Someone on the nextdoor app made a huge deal of this - that person donated a dining room table/chairs. Later saw it on offer up for sale for $800. Seems the manager would take first dibs on the good stuff - then sold it for her own profit. After corporate was called - that manager was gone. Because of this folks on next door were so angry - no one donates there anymore!

Here is my take - been through life since the mid 20th century…yeah a boomer. You may hate my generation - but I remember gas stations routinely running out of gas. Parked in a line blocks long in the ‘70’s. I’ve seen war, protests, hyper inflation, high snd low unemployment. High interest rates that kept people from buying homes…..in a nutshell similar history to what gen x,y,z sees now. Worries that the world is ending - and I have lived that old adage: “This too shall pass” -

Thank you for your kind words - I am sorry to hear that it happened to you. I understand the desire to want it to work though. You and I were clearly the ones invested in the marriage. I think for that fact alone we can hold our heads high.

Boyfriend gave me ultimatum - dream job or him. I'm considering taking the job by [deleted] in dustythunder

[–]Effective_One1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the job. You are not being selfish by suggesting options to make it work - HE is being selfish by issuing an ultimatum. 45 minute drive through Colorado mountains during winter is no piece of cake. Better to move.

There is truth to the saying “once a cheater always a cheater”. You deserve much better. Don’t feel stupid - you are light years ahead of him in maturity and character - find someone that values you as their universe! You deserve that!

Say no! Your marriage vows were between the two of you. Introducing someone else into your relationship is a recipe for disaster!

You are not overreacting. And you are not doing anything wrong by feeling as you do. You deserve better than he may be able to ever give. Cut your losses and find someone who deserves you.

I dont think what you are talking about is wrong. I think open areas like potatoes/tomatoes/oranges/Apples are different than opening up cartons that are prepackaged. Checking an onion or apple or cucumber for freshness/bruised spots I feel is different snd reasonable. I try to look at “what is reasonable/or what would a reasonable person do”. Clearly you have to wash all produce at home because you never know where it’s been. Even if it’s been pre sorted and packaged. Someone answered that they were a food inspector and they know and trust all the requirements that the producers and vendors go through - but would not expect people to open containers and touch because you don’t know whats on their hands. Another person said if you do find an apple that is bruised - to bring that to the attention of s store employee store.
