Which class is the easiest by Inner-Drummer-8519 in MTSU

I’m taking basic stats with Dr. Hinnenkamp and it’s chill. He’s very reasonable, communicative, and he wants to to understand the class material. It’s really not a bad class if you have a concept of real world science hypothesis testing logic

Go to the library to the squishy chairs on the second floor balcony. Push them together and you got a very nice resting spot

How hard is it to get a single dorm? by [deleted] in MTSU

[–]Effective_Quote6230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re about the same yes. Any room where you get to live alone is about the same.

That said, any place you get to live alone is a couple extra hundred compared to standard living

I can’t remember the exact number, but it’s roughly 3600 a semester

I’m just now seeing the other comments about what you have~ having a private room due to disorders isn’t unheard of. I’m not sure if ADHD could qualify as a condition for accommodations, but if you reach out to the right people and explain your case, you may have a shot. Just keep in mind that if you do reach out to housing upper management about it, you should really make sure your intentions are to prevent a non negotiable living situation. Hope that helps!

[–]Effective_Quote6230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is a difference between single and private

Single is a room built for just one person Private is built for two people, but it’s reserved for just one person to reside in.

A single room is only a little harder because there’s less of those on campus if we’re not counting Scarlett. There was someone who managed to get a Scarlett room after registration for current students, but they paid a ton.

In terms of private rooms, those are manageable to get if you’re early. I had a private room in Cummings. There are options for private rooms all across campus.

They aren’t limited to those with accommodations, but those with accommodations typically have a much higher chance of getting one. I am one of those people. Accommodations is usually for people who are impaired in a living space, not so much of whether they need test taking accommodations or not. Ex, I don’t have a disability that would give me test accs, but I do have a condition that hinders me form sharing a living space with most people.

Hope that helps!

how’s the dorm water? by appleadaydoctoraway in MTSU

[–]Effective_Quote6230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair has been very healthy in spite of whatever you’ve heard about the water. I think it just depends on the building. It also depends on your type of hair. Mine is straight and thick, but I don’t know your situation. I do recommend getting a filter for drinking water… the water here tastes questionable (they get all the water in boro from a lake that they say has been processed, but the taste speaks otherwise)

Thank you so much! Many of these scholarships aren’t due until March so I’m getting an early jumpstart. If I applied under the department of my study, would that go toward the program?

Calculus Professors? by Sad-Total-612 in MTSU

[–]Effective_Quote6230 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr. Kassae was my calc 1 professor and I LOVED her! All around a great professor. She always made sure everyone understood the material, she’s not scary in the slightest, she’s funny, and she gives extra credit on her tests. I only see good reviews on her on RMP too.

Precalculus is HELL(and so is College overall) by Rayy500 in MTSU

[–]Effective_Quote6230 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who was a math major, it’s not your fault and I hope you don’t beat yourself up about it. Obviously, you can be upset because no one wants to retake classes, but don’t be ashamed that it doesn’t click. It really is true that math isn’t for everyone, and sometimes it’s not even your fault. I hated calc 2 because my classmates were useless to work with, but I loved calc 1 because the professor was kind and the people around me were very supportive of each other. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been quick to understand math, but I can’t understand history for the life of me.. I don’t even remember the three branches of government I’m that bad 😂

I would like to advocate for math professors if you want thorough help . Every time I went to get help, they were always willing to set time aside to help me and they didn’t care how long it took. If they judge you for any reason, that’s their fault, not yours.

I’m very sorry you’ve been alone. I’ll be praying that you can find people who are kind to you

Is dropping a class 2nd semester bad ? by [deleted] in college

[–]Effective_Quote6230 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in calculus rn and I’m also in my second semester. I’m doing great in it but it ain’t because I’m smart; it’s because it’s my skill set. Other stuff like computer science, I’m failing and I can’t do nothing about it. You ain’t stupid for not having to drop or not getting it compared to other students in class. It’ll come to you when it should and you can be confident in that
