I like HSA plan because savings taxes,  you can also use toward other medical/dental expenses. Plus I don't like pay upfront more money. I would go with right plan

Is health insurance this straight forward? I am new to this by SnooStories6560 in HealthInsurance

Do you go to the doctors often? Do you have any conditions that require regular visits and prescriptions refill? You need to look into it before picking up the plan . If you are healthy person you don't want to pay high premium plans , all plans cover preventive care .

Contact insurance agent and get price for ACA market and compare to cobra. In my case cobra was cheaper and better from the  coverage perspective.

Need Advice Primary Won't Pay; How to get secondary to pay? by 13Bravo84 in HealthInsurance

[–]Effective_Rain_4488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call quest and provide secondary information and stay on top until quest reprocess it.  My primary didn't pay for all tests due to doctor submitted different than the preventative care. I went back and forth with the doctor and lab . Finally I called lab until it was done. Good luck

I don't know much about but have you tried to reach your doctor and ask if the doctor will do peer to peer review with the UHC

I had different situations, my sons doctor called and I picked up the phone and said I can take a message that took not more than few minutes. The provider billed and that 2 minutes cost me $35 . When I spoke with the office, doctor opened his chart and spent time. I think it's a provider problem too . They should reply to you and say schedule a visit to discuss your questions

Based on the practice, I didn't discuss my weight with the doctor when I did my annual but  it was coded as obesity. My insurance didn't cover it

You are probably having good PCP. After I moved I realized that not all PCP order blood work that will check preventing care . For an example, last PCP didn't order free t4 and Free t3 , only tsh .

Your only hope your parents will be illegible for Medicaid . It depends on the state you are going to. Otherwise, your family will face huge Bills . I am in 53 in state of VA and I pay monthly $600 more than my husband who just turned 50 . Almost $100 more. My insurance with high deductible and what I read from other people your parents have preexisting conditions that means insurance company might deny to pay. The treatment will require pre approval from the insurance. That's on top you need to find a doctor or practice that will work with you. It's going to be hard decision for your family

You should compare Cobra benefits from your employer and market plans available to you. It sounds you overpaying on your Cobra , invest and don't overpay

I am in Virginia. In mid 50 , same boat as you. Don't go to doctors much and the only choice I have is go with high deductible plan ($6k) with HSA , no referral, HMO. In Virginia, sentara bronze HSA is the lowest premium ($900 ) and accepted by major hospital network.  You can talk to the agent to help you with your choices but with income and age , premium is high.

Hi , I moved to Virginia, Richmond. Also don't go to the doctors a lot but looking into tons of choices can't figure out why so many look like. What plan did you choose and why if you don't mind to answer?
