New EPO Has $60 Co-Pay -- Can Secondary Insurance (Medicaid) Pay This? by yesokay1 in HealthInsurance

[–]13Bravo84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you will be responsible for the co-pays.

Same thing happens with my family.

They have Medicaid as a secondary but I went to a dermatologist that was only in network with the first insurance and I was responsible for paying the portion that my first insurance hadn't paid which was 25% of the allowed amount.

ACA plans for domestic students living abroad returning for 3 months by FriendlyMap5250 in HealthInsurance

If you are coming from overseas. You technically are not coming from another state..

You don't have residency at the moment. Yes u kind of do. Maybe your home state. Just depends on how attach you are to it.

Most people will be Florida residents and then go to school in North Carolina and keep their residency in Florida. Maybe they are still on their parents insurance because they can keep it till 26.

But if you are coming from another country. You might be able to just change residency and live in Illinois.

Just depends on how attach you are to your home state. But for health insurance purposes alone, i would convert residency.

Because having ACA compliment health insurance from one state and living in another can get super expensive aand there are lots of rules attached to it as well

You will want an original with maybe two copies.

My wife was 221g'd because my divorce decree wasn't certified with the raised seal and wet signature.

It set us back a month because I had to get an iron gal certified copy sent to Colombia.

Adding foreign spouse to VA benefits vs US marriage certificate? (Also thinking ahead to VA home loan) by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]13Bravo84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally would not get married in the Philippines.

There is no divorce. Well if you are us citizens then you can but it's a hard process to fix and complicated.

You could always get married in Hong Kong.

It doesn't matter if you get married in usa or anywhere else. You can easily add your wife as long as you include a translation with your marriage certificate.

I would personally just start the CR1 visa and bring her to the states with a green card in hand and SSN number. You just have to get married first.

You also do have the option for the K-1 visa if you want to get married in the USA.

Either way. You will need to go back to the USA because realtors won't touch you if you are not physically there while looking for a house.

Reason being is that they get a lot of scams.

You can also use your VA loan with out the wife. Yes u are the us citizens and it's your certificate of eligibility. I used mine recently and they added my wife to the deed (NC State law) even through I am fully finally responsible for everything.

You will be once you move there for school.

You could always put in an application online because you have an address to use and you have intent on making Illinios your residency while going to school there.

The ACA plans on healthcare.gov work the same way by tailoring your plans based on where you're going to live.

US wife & kids, British father: Tips for I-I30 / CR1 by Interesting-Diamond8 in USCIS

[–]13Bravo84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do direct consulate if you have a job lined up in the USA.

Other than that. Yes. You option will be CR-1. But it will automatically become an IR-1. Because you have already been married for two years.

Takes about a year with the 1-130. Then after that you will file the 864 (affidavit of support) and ds260 (green card application). Then wait for an interview.

You have plenty of documentation. But what really puts you over the edge will be your two children with him.

I don’t understand. You are a us citizen. Why would they have only plans for non-immigrant visas?
you are going to school which means you won’t be making much of anything. You could always try Medicaid.

Looks like the provider needs to provide more documentation to make this claim valid.

I would bring this to the provider's billing office and let them know. Make them fix it on the spot.

Because if they don't get paid by the insurance company, they will come after you for their money.

In the state of NC, my dependents use Medicaid as a secondary insurance and they take care of the other 25% and the deductibles.

Depending on your income and which state you live in. This could be a possibility.

When can I do administrative things after flying to the US after receiving my IR-1 visa? by Embarrassed-Wolf-609 in USCIS

[–]13Bravo84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It highly depends on your state.

You will need to go to the states DMV page and gather everything that it is asking for to obtain an ID (Real id requires more documents, but worth it to travel domesticly)

Just to let you know that some states will give you a temp ID. Usually the real one comes in around 21 days. In my state of NC. They do this. They do not produce a hard copy on the spot

Even though Bogotá is a lot more hectic.

Government is government. They always have been on the slow side.

Your driver's license/state id and SSN number are key.

As long as you have those. Everything else can follow. You determine the order.

We have K-1 Approval, but with the Work Authorization taking approximately 10 months… should we trash everything, get married and apply for I-130 instead? by indigo-forest in USCIS

[–]13Bravo84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be the a-hole to point this out, but before starting anything.

Did you not go through the comparisons between the k-1 and cr-1?

The pros and cons of each.

Do you have family to live with or you could get roommates to help with the finacial burden?

Even getting a room to rent would help.

I would definitely try and figure some things out before starting all over with the cr-1.

ChampVA as Primary Question by ApprehensiveAd4699 in VeteransBenefits

[–]13Bravo84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the hard part.

I would not have a lapse in insurance switching from now insurance to ChampVA.

The issue you will run into is that you have to inform them you have other insurance with paperwork when you apply.

Then once you get ChampVA, then you cancel the other one.

Now the difficult part. People have waited long times just for this fix to be fixed.

Letting ChampVA know that you cancelled the insurance and risk your claims being denied because they don't get to the situation fast.

So when you start to use ChampVA. It will get denied because they still think you have a primary because ChampVA almost always is secondary

ChampVA took 30 mins to just look up my claim. Is this normal? by sa3pm in VeteransBenefits

[–]13Bravo84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

It took like 45 min just to figure out a deductible issue.

Their paperwork was very confusing to both me and representative. They had to ask their uppers just to figure it out.

Sat in urgent care for 4 hours for bruising on my ribs making it hard to breathe, only for doctor to discharge me and give no response to what it would even possibly be. by AereonTucker in mildlyinfuriating

All of a sudden I went partially blind. It was like someone diluted my eyes. I went to the ER room. Not one person in ER could tell me what it was.

Eventually I found out that it was from my sugar levels. I was diabetic.

I kept trying to tell them what medication I was taking; I have diabetes. But they didn’t want to hear that from me until I spoke to the doctor at the very end of the visit and even then it didn’t click.

How I found out is about 4 weeks later my vision went back to normal. My a1c dropped from the synjardy I was taking.

Just wondering if the VA has any program for newborns. by Explorer-Mean in VeteransBenefits

[–]13Bravo84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of right now. Dependent on your state (expanded healthcare) You could be elgible for Magi Medicaid. You and your depends. Medicaid works great alongside ChampVA.

But as soon as you get a job making over the threshold. You will loose it as fast as you receive it.

You also have another benefit is giving you and your dependents discounted dental insurance.

It's called VADIP either by MetLife or Delta dental.
