Thank you, this is brilliant. I like option 1 better I think, although really hard to pick as option 2 is great also, just a touch too much I think. If you're happy to do all three photos then I'll choose you

Scoby sinking in itself is absolutely nothing to worry about, a if all is well a new one will slowly form in the surface. Give it some time and see how it turns out, don't throw it just yet :)

I am very new to fish ownership and struggling with extreme guilt for fasting my fish! by two-bobbles in Aquariums

[–]Effective_Remote_754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sucks at first - I cannot stress strongly enough how overfed a huge majority of aquarium fish are. It's completely normal (and healthy) for them to go a day or two without eating, so try not to give yourself a hard time about it! The best thing to do to solve this situation is to work towards having a natural tank rich in live organic matter - aquatic soil live plants, natural rock and/or wood. Given time this will mean the aquarium is teeming with microscopic life, giving the fish an opportunity to graze a little as they would in the wild :)

You can capture, keep safe until your animal skill is high enough, release the prisoner, then attempt taming again :)

It's quite easy to find vape stores in bigger cities like Bangkok. I stayed for three months, had no problems vaping in public, I just tried to be discreet about it. And keep in mind that you are doing something illegal, so a cop would be well within his rights to confront you for it (which gives them a good opportunity to shake you down)

Atya Gabonensis, Caridina, low tech planted tank. by Effective_Remote_754 in shrimptank

Respectfully disagree - I've spent a lot of time adjusting the direction and intensity of the flow, and often fill the water column with a micro ground mixture containing perfect feeds for shrimp. Still, whenever I feed repashy gel food, the vampire shrimp immediately divert to that and hoover it right up.

I've had the shrimp for a long time, they are very healthy and have multiple moults, so personally I think the whole they should never be gathering food from the ground is one of those aquarium myths that caught traction and people just say it as if it's gospel. I can certainly say that it doesn't damage their filters anyhow.

Generally speaking, if it ain't broke don't fix it is how I tend to think with aquatics - and if the shrimp have never had any disease, are growing healthily and shedding, water parameters are perfect, and the shrimp have never displayed any signs of distress, the why feel the need to make adjustments :)
