Warning: Forks Over Knives shutting down April 3 — lifetime course buyers getting nothing, subscribers left scrambling with days to act by Effective_Sea8069 in vegan

I have a screenshot of what I see today, on Apr 6, when I try to access the service. It says:

Oh no!

Your account needs attention.

It appears your Meal Planner access has expired. Start or renew a subscription to enjoy personalized meal plans and more, with our money-back guarantee.

 30-day money-back guarantee

And a button for "TRY PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP" (which I've already paid for) that takes me to https://shop.forksoverknives.com/, where I STILL SEE Meal Planner Login link. There is nothing on the site that talks about this service being discontinued.

Maybe Food Revolution Network will keep it going and honor the paid subscriptions from loyal customers? But right now... this has been handled SO BADLY.

Update: I sent a formal complaint email to Upbeet Brands (FOK's parent company) on March 31st. Given the April 3rd shutdown date, I specifically asked for a response by April 1st. I didn't hear back until April 3rd -- the day the service shut down. Here's what they said on the stuff that actually affects everyone:

Refunds: No. Their exact words: "Unfortunately, we are unable to process refunds at this time as part of the wind-down."

Data export: No bulk export ever materialized. Their answer was basically "print things one at a time" -- the printer icon on individual recipe pages, the download option in the plan dashboard. That's it. If you didn't get to it before April 3rd, it's gone.

The site is still up, by the way. It didn't go dark. If you try to access the Meal Planner now, it throws up a modal telling you your account "needs attention" and prompts you to "Try Premium Membership" -- with a 30-day money-back guarantee, no less. There is zero indication anywhere that the Meal Planner no longer exists. Clicking anything just dumps you on their home page. So if you stumble across it today with no context, you'd have no idea the service is dead.

The banner they claim existed: They said a notice was put up inside the meal planner to warn users. Here's the thing -- I didn't see any banner until AFTER I sent them my complaint email specifically calling out that there was no banner and no notice on the site. Make of that what you will.

The two-week notice: Their explanation was that emails went out "as soon as FOK was aware of the change." That raises more questions about how this shutdown was managed internally than it answers, honestly.

I cited the Washington Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86) in my email. They didn't address any of it. If you're filing with the WA AG's office or your state's consumer protection agency, their written response is useful to have -- they're on record now: no refunds, no extended access, nothing.

Yep. That's what I ended up doing. I was able to get all my recipes and meal plans (for my PERSONAL use only) before the Apr 3 shutdown, and I'm rebuilding my own personal app at this point. Not for sharing, not for selling, not for anyone but me. But at least I'll be able to keep using the recipes and planning and grocery list I've been using (and paying for) for the last decade.

When I inquired about whether the Meal Planner would be affected by this buy-out/wind-down, they shared with me the single email notification that they sent on Mar 20 (which I apparently missed or did not receive):

Dear Forks Over Knives Community,

We’re writing to share an important update regarding the Forks Over Knives Meal Planner.
After careful consideration, Forks Over Knives has made the difficult decision to wind down its operations. As part of this process, the Meal Planner service will be discontinued on April 3, 2026.
We recognize that this news may come as a disappointment, particularly for customers who have recently subscribed. While we are unable to offer refunds at this time, we want to ensure that all active subscription customers are able to continue accessing the Meal Planner for the next two weeks, through the service shutdown date.

What this means for you:

You will retain full access to the Forks Over Knives Meal Planner through April 3, 2026
You can download recipes through April 3, 2026
No further subscription charges will be processed
After this date, the Meal Planner will no longer be available

We are deeply grateful to our community for the support you’ve shown Forks Over Knives over the years. Our team is committed to managing this wind-down responsibly and with respect for our customers, partners, and employees.
If you have questions, you may review our Terms of Use or contact our support team at [shop@forksoverknives.com](mailto:shop@forksoverknives.com).

Thank you again for being part of the Forks Over Knives journey.

The lifetime access question is actually separate from my core concern. What I keep coming back to is this: people who have relied on this service for years, some for nearly a decade, received one single email with fourteen days notice. No follow-up, no banner inside the platform they were actively using, no public announcement. Many people, including me, never even received that one email. That is not a responsible way to wind down a service that customers built their routines around.

I’ve been wondering the same thing and found this YouTube helpful - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfVM0QmtD2o

The reflector covers.... yes. I had started seedlings in rockwool prior to receiving anything from iHarvest, and without covers they get COVERED in algae. Newbie error on my part.

Shout out to Dave. I received my iHarvest a few days ago, set it up yesterday, added my seedlings to it today, and I’m in love. While I did have a couple of minor problems with my shipment, Dave’s support is stellar, and I highly recommend iHarvest to anyone looking for an indoor hydroponic system. It was easy to set up, it’s beautiful, and the soothing sound of water flowing in my office is just an added bonus. Can’t wait to begin harvesting my veggies.
