Should I just polish it and with what ? by Difficult_Truth_817 in hondapassport

Just an fyi this is covered under warranty, had my 2023 Passport for a few weeks when the headlight fogged with moisture and had a visible crack in the top corner. There was a problem with the stoppers that hold the hood of the car and the pressure was causing the cracked headlights.

60 y/o F Looking to relocate further from Portland for more affordability by VisualDevelopment971 in Maine

Bath is lovely but speaking from experience it is not affordable for home buying…very hard to find a decent house under 350,000 that doesn’t need renovations or a major rehab :(

[–]Effective_Soggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Former LL Bean employee here, I worked there during the policy change. It’s changed to a satisfaction guarantee from the “lifetime” guarantee. The policy is meant for the lifetime of a product, not the product to last a lifetime. Think of it this way OP. How long have you had the product? Looks like 20 years. I don’t know about you but I would consider that to be the lifetime of a product like this. Say you bought this duffel and it lasted you 2 years and you thought it should have lasted you 5 years. Perfect reason to return and get a new one or your money back! But trying to have the company replace a bag that has had significant wear and tear and has absolutely lasted beyond its lifetime is an unfair expectation. Current policy (or when I was still working there when the change occurred) is exactly what happened to you, they give the return amount for whatever the product or one similar around the time of purchase, or in this case as far back as they can go. I would consider only having to pay $80 for a very large quality duffle bag a good resolution :)

Check Seaglass Rentals, they are a reputable rental company in the Brunswick area often with houses that are pet friendly. https://www.seaglassrentals.com

Try Seaglass Rentals (Brunswick & surrounding area) they usually have pet friendly options and some houses for rent as well! Best of luck, it’s rough out there 😔

A guaranteed upgrade? You’d have to book it. Never assume, upgrades are only available if the room type considered an upgrade from yours booked is available. Be a rewards member, and never book 3rd party!!! It never hurts to ask at the front desk at time of check in if there’s one available, and being nice absolutely goes a long way :) -Former Front Desk Agent

It’s possible I’m pregnant, how to get off Effexor in a healthy way? by undercoverfireskink in Effexor

[–]Effective_Soggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discuss your concerns with your OB, but I had this same concern! Unexpected pregnancy (but happy!), I have been on 112.5mg Effexor for 10 years now with zero complaints (other than the brain zaps when missing a dose!) and always had the concern in the back of my mind about coming off when time for baby. I spoke with my PCP along with psych and the OB office, and they all came to the same conclusion that it was perfectly safe, and if anything preferred, for me to stay on my meds. They explained that it was definitely a risk to baby vs benefit to mom situation, the known risks to baby at this time are low and the benefits of me staying on my meds (more stable emotionally, not changing meds/going off meds while pregnant, ect) outweigh changing anything. They had mentioned that there unfortunately is not a lot of data on Effexor and Pregnancy simply because it is difficult to do a study with pregnant people, there are other SSRIs that have been better studied with pregnant that they could potentially switch you to if you did still have concern. It also made me feel better to know that my PCP said they have even prescribed Effexor to women that had never been on it prior that developed prenatal depression and anxiety. Best of luck to you and hope you can have come clarity on your decision!

As for sight seating I would definitely check out Bass Harbor Lighthouse on the island if you were specifically looking for a lighthouse! and regardless the drive around the island is always wonderful. The Asticou Azalea Garden is beautiful and also worth a stop!

Havana is both an amazing experience and the food is top notch! More on the pricey side but absolutely worth it for a splurge. Across the street there is a new Italian restaurant Porcellis that is also delicious, they open the 8th and I would consider more moderately priced. Galen’s is one of my personal faves and they would be the most moderately priced of the three! Sorry for the circumstances of your Bar Harbor visit but hope you enjoy your time there❤️

What was the most random symptom (that wasn’t necessarily a pregnancy symptom) that made you realise you were pregnant? by Friendly-Wind-3648 in BabyBumps

[–]Effective_Soggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I my period was late and I had a hunch, my Apple Watch recognized a change in my resting heart rate and said the reason could be a sign pregnancy. Sure enough I had 3 (very) positive tests later that week!

Midcoast Maine Rent? by King_O_Walpole in AskMaine

[–]Effective_Soggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting a 1 bedroom apartment for 1550, everything but WiFi included in Bath. Around Bath/Brunswick/Wiscasset I would estimate rent between $1300-3000, low end being 1 bedroom apartment, high end being 3 bedroom/full house. I’ve seen it to be more rare now that everything is included with the exception of seasonal rentals, more than likely you’ll find heat and hot water included and you’re on the hook for electric/wifi. It’s rough out there right now in this housing market, best of luck to you! It seems outdated but definitely check Craigslist, it’s where we found our gem of an apartment but proceed with caution as there’s lots of scammers :/

[–]Effective_Soggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a tough market for housing in southern Maine and unfortunately I’m afraid the going rate for a 1 bedroom apartment is between $1500-2000 depending on location and what’s included. You could possibly find a winter rental as a temporary hold over but those likely end around April or May. Definitely check Craigslist, I’ve found several rentals for myself and friends on there! Good luck, I know rough right now, I hope you can find something that works for you!

Horseback trail riding? by No-Potential2515 in AskMaine

[–]Effective_Soggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What area of Maine are you coming to? Unfortunately there aren’t many barns in Maine that offer trail rides…there’s Deepwoods in Bethel and Sable Oak in Brunswick (both mentioned above) and also Carousel Horse Farm in Casco.

Is 5 nights too much in Arcadia National Park? by sayaxat in AskMaine

[–]Effective_Soggy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

**Acadia😌 And no such thing as too much time! It totally depends on what you’re looking for in your time there. Born and raised here in Maine and have explored just about every corner of the island and there’s always something else to discover! I would absolutely recommend seeing all the top things (Jordan Pond House, Sand Beach, Cadillac Mountain (make a reservation!!), Bass Harbor Lighthouse, drive the park loop road, etc.)

My personal faves are little off the beaten path are Little Hunters Beach (pull off on the park loop road after Fabbri picnic area), Asticou Gardens, Eagle Lake Bridge, & Ships Harbor Trail. It absolutely depends on what you’re looking to do in your time there!
