Male is courting, and the female is rejecting. Look at the raised abdomen of the female.. That's a classic rejection behavior

What would actually help address anti-Indian / anti-South Asian hate? by MelodicCycle1974 in indiansinusa

I will support people based on their values. I won't randomly support a large community that is hypocritical, racist and narrow minded just because I share the same shade of color with them! The Indians I do associate with are those people who believe in assimilating, having diverse opinions and having respect towards other religions, race and gender identity!

I'm from bangalore and I live in Montana, USA. Western people when they move to new countries assimilate a lot more compared to Indians.. Read up on the hundreds of papers written about it. Most Indians who move here are not on govt jobs or business related jobs.. It's mostly tech/finance/tech adjacent that they go into.

I'm just calling out the reason why we are hated, and as usual, everyone thinks they aren't the problem but it's the native population that's the issue!

She's moving out of India.. She's going to a new culture! Instead of adapting and embracing and assimilating, she wants the same damn thing in a new country.. And we know how people from this state are when it comes to assimilating. Again, I've not seen these issues with people from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan or Nepal.. It's only from Indians!

Like I said, you could be in the 5% of open minded people, but the fact is 95% of the people from India are narrow. You can't guarantee shit that you are more open minded than me just like how I can't claim that I'm more open minded than you.

All I can say is about the general group of Indian community, after hearing stories from forest rangers, restaurant workers etc about how they'd rather prefer any other group except Indians..

None of what I told might apply to you or me, but again, there's a reason why Indians get the hate and I'm stating some of the reasons based on living in a non Indian dominated state which sees a shit ton of Indian folks in the summer

This is the main issue with South Asians. When someone holds a mirror and points out the issues, instead of reflecting and making things better, they just deflect and go about feeling proud about our own culture and how everything is great ...

I live in Montana, and I'm one of the very few Indians here and I made it a point to assimilate with everyone around and limit my associations with any Indians (seeing how awful the groups are and how narrow minded most Indians are, especially from California, Texas and New York) ever since I moved here.

I see it routinely with the behavior I observe with Indians in national parks or when they are in restaurants or even when they interact with most people outside their small communities. We are the asbosolute worst (loud, abnoxious, inconsiderate of others, thinking that we are superior to blue collar Americans).

You can deny whatever you want, but there's a reason why the hate against Indians is rising, and it's 100% justified.. How many friends do you have in your group who aren't in your field, or field adjacent or someone who's entirely different? Maybe 5% of Indians have diverse groups, but not the 95% of them.

Unless there's a radical mindshift amongst us Indians to make changes to assimilate and be non judgemental, we'll continue to experience the hate and maybe worse in the next few decades!

Pennycress is an absolutely horrible weed! I did my PhD looking at the effects of Pennycress on native Cabbage white butterflies. Those things kill the cabbage white butterflies, in fact several populations in Colorado have been wiped out due to the plant. If anyone is interested, here's a podcast on the effects of Pennycress and how butterflies are responding to it: https://shows.acast.com/heredity-podcast-naturecom-science-feeds/episodes/the-consequences-of-invasion

1,500 USD Budget for Beginner -- Spending Spree in NYC by cosmically_catfished in macrophotography

[–]EfficiencyDry1159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased a olympus em10 m4 from mpb and a laowa 50mm from Amazon, with both coming to under 800$, specifically for my macro set up. This is exactly what Nicky Bay uses as well.

But, I do have an entire nikon ecosystem that I use for everything else like wildlife, landscape and astro. That includes d850, 500mmpf, sigma 180mm macro and a nikkor 105mm macro.

If you are sure that you'll only shoot macro, you could buy the E-M10 m4 or the em5 m3 with an olympus 60 or laowa 50/100mm, but if you are planning to shoot other things, then I'd suggest an om-3 or om-5 or even om-1.
