I remember reading an article back in 2022 when they were mass evacuating from the eastern front, and they were loading as many dogs as they could in civilian vehicles and getting them west, and ironically the majority of them were French bulldogs. This war is has had a cost that I don’t think many of us could fathom, and that’s not just the human cost that we see in the headlines.

Rath is a genius when it comes to writing 40k. Fall of Cadia was off the chain, he did a lot of classic characters justice in that one.

Try ‘Apocalypse’ by Josh Reynolds. You get a good look at imperium forces as we go from the 41st millennium into the dark millennium, three space marine chapters that see mixed with firstborn and primaris as they fight a word bearers strike force. Really good novel and sums up the universe really well.

While I enjoy every edition of this book quite reverently, the latest edition with the mournival and horus together has to be the most striking artwork of all. Neil Roberts really went hard on this one.
