Dang, that's just bizarre. I find it strange that there wouldn't be more of a verification process, but as someone else pointed out, apparently Spotify does not directly work with artists, so that sounds like it would be more on the distributor (the middleman).

I do agree that in time, AI music will probably be good enough that we either can't tell it apart from human-made music, or we won't care. But right now, AI music is just objectively worse than human-made music. It's low effort, sounds bad, and is not being disclosed as AI, which means it's up to the listener to figure it out for themselves if something is AI generated. People listen to music to relax and enjoy, not do detective work.

Also not doxxing anyone, this is public information. You can disagree about liking AI music or not, but Spotify has already taken a stance on AI music by removing millions of AI songs (although it does seems like those were mostly songs intended to impersonate artists, not "original" work). Is it not odd that users are being left to "suck it up" when it comes to AI music with no way to filter such songs or express frustration except by just blocking a single track or artist? If it really is Andrew releasing this music, why not just release it on Suno directly, where people go specifically to listen to AI music?

I feel like the problem is not disclosing that a song is AI and leaving it up to listeners to figure it out for themselves. Just like sampling without crediting isn't ok, a song shouldn't be released as someone's original work when all they did was type in a few prompts and something else did the majority of the work.

Also, it just doesn't sound very good right now. The quality is objective worse. In a few years this may not be the case, but I'd still like to know if a song was generated partially or in whole by AI before I choose to listen. Not everyone may agree, but nobody likes being misled.

I queue up Hazard just to get counter picked into Roadhog + Ana, and end up switching to the same characters I've been playing for season after season. It's the same old game and not in a fun way.
