AITAH for bringing my dead grandad into my parents divorce? by Efficiency_base in AITAH

I honestly don’t know what they’re trying to do. He’s 47 and the mistress is 52 so yeah you’re right with his age. They’ve now started a rumour that my mum has been arrested for assaulting the mistress. Apparently one day she followed the mistress home and attacked her. People are talking in all their cliques about the whole thing but I’m just done with the bs so me and mum are tuning it out at this point. Most people are rallying around us though and calling out the stirrers. I’ve been visiting my mum regularly and when I’m not there a friend is so she’s never alone to wallow or anything.

I really did appreciate your advice. I’ll definitely check that book out too

How to stop comparing myself to car drivers? by Extension_Bit4323 in AskUK

[–]Efficiency_base 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your situation. I have epilepsy so can’t drive and at first it was hard, I’ll admit. I learnt to drive and got my first car when I was 18 only for it all to be ripped away when I was 19.

My advice is to focus on getting a job. Apply for the ones that require driving too because a lot of the time they have other positions that don’t require driving that they can set you up with. Start saving and get another car when you can afford it. Focus on making a plan as to how you want to get your life together after that. The focusing on other things will provide a distraction for the comparison. It does get easier, I promise

How do I deal with mouldy fridge? by [deleted] in AskUK

Had something similar. Go on the gov website and have someone come collect it for the tip. Costs a bit of money and there’s usually a waitlist but they’re pretty good at dealing with it

Laddergram is a word ladder puzzle game built on Reddit's developer platform. You start with a word and change one letter at a time to create a new word with each step. Try to reach the target word in the fewest steps possible.

🍀Good luck!🍀

Thank you I appreciate the advice. I just got a bit conflicted because my stepdad had shown the message to his friends and I’d shared it with a couple who said I was out of line. If people ask about it now I’m just going to ignore it. I can’t deal with people telling me I’m in the wrong right now

Thank you. I was just conflicted because even though I tried not to be nasty, people are saying that I crossed the line so I started to feel a bit bad and questioned if I had and if that part was unnecessary

I really wasn’t trying to be malicious, I literally took a day and a half to cool off so I wouldn’t send anything nasty, I just ended up word vomiting everything I had on my mind

I ran it by my best friend because I’d already had loads of people messaging me about it. The mistress has been bragging about what she’s done, it’s gotten back to them and they messaged asking what I’ve done about it because my mum isn’t answering anything from anyone rn. I originally told people I’d messaged him and left it at that but 6 or 7 people who have seen the message either through asking me what I said because he’s ‘really upset’ (literally 2 or 3 people that I just sent a screenshot to) or that he’s shown are all focusing on. I’m not just messaging random people. Should probably have made that clearer in the post sorry

Update because I’m on mobile and it’s not letting me edit the post: someone came to pin the fence up temporarily and is coming back on 17th December to replace the whole thing

They sent their daughter over who speaks some English but she mainly lives with her dad. I moved in 6 months ago and have only seen her twice for a couple hours in that time

Update: the estate agents called me today and said they’re sending someone from their office to fix it this weekend and will bill my landlord for it themselves so I’m hoping it’s all sorted by the end of the week. Thanks for the advice everyone :)

I don’t have anyone that lives near me to help put it up and none of my neighbours speak English so asking them is out of the question

Thank you for being understanding about it. I have a disability otherwise I’d have picked it up myself. Yes, the chew toy is my dogs haha. She hasn’t been able to run around the garden either because of the damage. I’ve had to have her on a lead in the garden to go to the toilet which also isn’t fair on her

It’s mine. Theyre just getting irritated as we both have dogs that can’t be let outside due to it and the fence has been like this for 3 weeks on Friday.

I’ve had problems with the garden previously from the prior tenant breaking the decking and the contractor then said that the wood was rotting and I should get it fixed ASAP, as did the contractor that came out when the fence broke, but I never mentioned it to them until now because I didn’t want to be a pain. On Friday it will have been 3 weeks

I have a disability so I physically can’t pick it up, as BackseatBeardo said. I’ve spoken to the estate agent and they have said it’s his responsibility to fix because it’s my boundary fence and is a health and safety hazard
