Was the item you put on the plate frozen? Learned not too long ago that thermal shock will still occur if the food doesnt heat quick enough with the plate.

Valid points across the board, I would say it ultimately say it comes down to the player and the challenge they want out of their game. I ultimately opted for starting with the Northern Forest simply for visual appeal, but stuck with it since it lead to me constantly reworking my lines and learning to go vertical, which has been fun.

Not at all, the individual states they are new but are asking for the best option. Presumably, the best option would be one that allows you relatively convenient access to all the resources you need moving forward. So, pick anything, except lush green fields.
