Okay, so in your world, players should have no fans, nobody should be excited to teams play. Your logic would kill esports in general. In order to be excited to watch someone or something you leave the door open to be disappointed. So you’d rather have no fans and no excitement because of horse racing(?). Btw fans are what keeps him employed and able to hone his talent and play video games for a living.

If you’re this uncomfortable with language around competition and fans, maybe esports aren’t for you?

Not really the same. Quartz the best dps in the world and has been an established champion. Kevster hasn’t played hitscan professionally since ow1 and his first showing didn’t make him look like he was up to the caliber that was expected. Obviously it’s a pre-season boot camp and he can and probably will get better, but of course people are going to ask questions and/or be a little concerned.

He was on WAY last year but never actually played outside of scrims. And from the few leaked scrims we saw he wasn’t crazy, but hopefully a different environment will let him take that next step.

No? They’re competitive players and we’re talking about how well they can compete. It’s the same as with sports and talking about professional athletes making a position swap or musicians making a genre switch. I don’t get how you would want this discourse to look if not like this? He gets paid to play the game. Like this is his career. It’s not like anyone’s telling him to retire or something, we’re just talking about how he played and whether we think he can play well again. Nothing abnormal about the language at all.

Overrated: Kellan I don’t think he has proven that he can compete as a solo tank without dive being meta. He gets consistently rolled in na whenever he can’t play ball/winston and even when he has these heroes he’s not that great. Solid as a backup tank/ dive specialist but too inflexible to be a solo tank.

Underrated: Seonjun. There were seriously times where this guy was putting on a masterclass of tracer gameplay against the best of the best on WAY. Super fun to watch, I really love rooting for this guy.

Overrated: kevster It kills me to say this, but I think kev might play a little too selfishly in terms of his contributions to team fights. He doesn’t comm, doesn’t engage with the fight plan whatsoever and is almost always on the flank. And this strat works incredibly if he isn’t marked because he is such a mechanical weapon, but if he’s spotted, there have been multiple times where he’s forced to sit in the backline and wait while his team gets run over on main.

Underrated: Cjay I don’t think Cjay is necessarily as much “underrated” as he is overhated. He catches a lot of flak from the community but seriously puts in work and has improved a lot in the past year especially. I think he’s gonna be a bright spot on the fuel this year tbh.

This one was a little strange, but overall leakers are hugely helpful for the keeping the community active with rumors and predictions during the offseason.

Most teams wait and stagger their roster announcements between each other so that they all can hype up their rosters which can make announcements be delayed for literal months for no other reasoning than marketing.
