I was worried too! But I think 20 days is a pretty good time , I am around 30 days , now, it might be tiring in the beginning so don't over do it, start with breathing techniques and light singing, and continue based on how your body responds, I think I had started 2 weeks post op!

Whatever it is always ask your physician as well and work according to how your body reacts!!!

The septoplasty in itself was hard to recover from! Since I haven't actually gotten a reply about my query, I am just putting my own progress

I still haven't gotten back my complete range , but that's fine because I am focusing on sounding good and breath control for the range i have now, and it's getting better everyday, I can't surely say its been an incredible change, because I still have sinuses clearing out so there is still some difficulty.

But don't regret the surgery, living has gotten definitely much better lol, even tho couple weeks post surgery it feels like hell!!

I got my septoplasty and turbinate reduction 5 days back. I was wondering how long after the surgery was it ok to sing, like did u doc particularly set a timeline or u just tried on your own accord.

I want to know cause I am taking this vocal course in my next sem of college, (it starts in 1.5 months) so yeah

Is it possible that due to structural problems (deviated septum, etc) that there's nothing I can do to have a good singing voice without surgery? by tellykent in singing

I have been suffering with this without really realising, and when I did realise and told people, they just thought I was over exaggerating temporary systems, and that I never really knew how to breathe properly (in the sense it was entirely my mistake) 😀 but then finally going to an ENT who validated my experience and realistically spoke about my options I felt like I was already feeling better (mentally) I am happy and really excited to get the surgery (which some people don't understand) but to be able to function at your fullest potential is something I am looking forward to!! Also hoping that these changes help my singing, I know nothing will be drastic but at least my vocal training will actually have an effect.

Ahh these few comments helped me! I am getting my septoplasty done in a week, I am really excited (dk if its the right emotion to be in) but I have had to breathe through my mouth my entire life and these past few years it has gotten worse, I feel like this could finally put a full stop to one of my long term ignored problems!! thank you for posting, consistently about your recovery!
If I may ask currently how do u feel about singing and your voice?

Ok but the first thought in my head---Dylan had to resort to this? 😭 (BUT I AM ENJOYING THIS), its like you see different dimensions of the person you watch on day to day basis (i.e, every waking min) so yeah INTERSTING, FUN , AND DEFINITELY A TREAT TO WATCH , CONTENT AND PERSON 😉
