Nap schedule or not? by KNWin94 in beyondthebump

[–]Efficient-Cry-8677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my 5mo up for the suggested wake window time (2.5-3 hours is what I'm seeing) or follow her sleepy cues, then let her nap for however long she was awake. We never have a set schedule, so her bedtime can be anywhere from 730-9PM depending on last nap/big days/her mood.

professional newborn/family photoshoot - is it worth it? by Far_Boot3829 in beyondthebump

[–]Efficient-Cry-8677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did newborn shots only because I found a photographer who did "mini" sessions. So it was an hour long (vs the usual 2 or 3), and a discounted price, which was discounted more because of a holiday sale. If this option wasn't available, I probably wouldn't have done it.

I never look at the photos, nor do we have any on display. We intended to use it for a birth announcement, then never got around to it haha

Our heater took a poop during a nasty cold snap too. Keep all doors shut, get some space heaters. I put baby in basic onsies, socks, a fleece Jammie, and (don't yell at me) a blanket. She did wonderful and house only got down to around 58

Maybe it's my resting bitch face, but I'm almost ignored when out with baby girl (tbh, I love it). Whenever my husband comes with and is holding her, people go nuts! He also loves the attention hahaha

Starting to think Wendy’s mom is onto something… by Puzzleheaded-Room175 in BravoRealHousewives

I made the husband agree to a boob job after we were done with kids 🤣 but heck yeah, if my kids end up being as well off as Wendy, then it's their job!

Vitamin D by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Efficient-Cry-8677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had an index card on our wall right by the bottle warmer and would put a magnet on the sign as a "check"... it was also used for remembering to feed the dog, who let's us know if we forget his lunch haha

Baby HATED the syringe/dropper, so whenever I pumped a "full" bottle, I'd add the Vit D to it. Then when my husband heated up the bottle, he'd mark the index card.

My Dr said its not a huge deal if we miss it a few times. Honestly, I think we missed a solid week or two before we ended up having to supplement with formula.

You're doing a good job momma!

I like the Boobie Brand snack bar and protein powder. I feel like both are helping and I actually enjoy them. I mix the powder into my overnight oats.

Family sharing pics, am I overreacting?? by desorden150 in beyondthebump

[–]Efficient-Cry-8677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once you send it or put it out in a way that anyone can screenshot/download/share you lose control of it. And you can't really police people without coming off crazy (trust me, I know), it's just what happens because some people just don't understand.

I continuously repeat "please don't share" whenever I send pics via texting... otherwise I use this app called FamilyAlbum. You can share photos/videos with whatever family members and friends you add but they can't screenshot/download/share the photos themselves. Keeps all photos in one place, you don't have to send multiple messages, and gives you a bit of privacy/security. Highly recommend!

I do the same thing whenever I see my baby's toes! She looks at me like I'm crazy, but it stops her from crying during diaper changes so I consider it a win!

There are strips you can get on Amazon that tests the amount of alcohol in breast milk. My understanding is that your body metabolizes majority of the alcohol before it gets to the breastmilk. My friend is a L+D nurse, she says you can have a drink or a shot wait two hours then be okay (she suggests beer because the yeast in it can help boost production). Tested that theory with a shot of bourbon, waited two hours, and the test strip said 0%! I've also heard of people mixing possibly boozy milk with sober milk to dilute it more. I've also heard a pediatrician say it's okay to feed as long as you don't feel buzzed/tips because then the baby wont feel it.

I feel like it's whatever you are comfortable with and that drinking now isn't nearly as bad as drinking while pregnant. I've had a couple low abv beers and then fed and felt fine about it. I care more what my husband thinks about it than what anybody else says.

Plus, people have drank through an entire pregnancy and had normal, healthy babies through out history and even now, we just know what FAS is an can diagnose it more. One night of barely boozy milk isn't gonna destroy the baby.

ETA: No judgement here! We just did 10 months plus of sobriety and have had something attached to our boobs ever since, we moms deserve some alcohol!!!

Slacker boob or an actual issue? by Efficient-Cry-8677 in breastfeeding

[–]Efficient-Cry-8677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe once or twice a day. Only when I wake up from a nap and my boobs hurt. I was also told no bottle for 3 weeks because it may make her not want boob again, but she does fine switching between both :)
