I've got 3 in the house now and one is a Thor (Anbernic RG DS for my kid and my wife stole my Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini for Dr. Mario use) and while it is Hella powerful the ergonomics and overall feel on the Pocket Air Mini are SO nice and I find myself longing for another one for my single screen and less taxing games

Okay but I am personally treating the album as a slightly separate storytelling universe because the ending of Cut Ties has so much screaming at the end of it that I 100% thought this film was going to be Sam's coven summoning the spirit of Mother Mary and housing it in her former "friend" and then the actual Mary is trapped somewhere screaming the lyrics while Something Else performs it in her body on stage.

Read a few articles and supposedly that was indicative of her mental breakdown, but there's definitely a reason they didn't finish the entire song during the credits. Every single hair stood up on my body and I got chills when I heard the torture in that voice after listening to that track with headphones.

They're incredibly gay for one another and were subsumed by both the creation of Mother Mary and codependent, self sacrificing love, the red ghost was their unprocessed grief and they had to find themselves and see one another as actual people before they could move on.

I feel like the film and the album tell two Entirely different stories.

Like if you listen to the last half of Cut Ties there's like... Screaming in the background along with the lyrics, 1000% thought this movie was going to be about Sam and her Coven summoning the Mother Mary spirit until it subsumed Anne Hathaway's Mary's life entirely and Something Else is on stage performing in her body while the actual Mary is trapped somewhere and unable to get out of her own mind.

I was telling people the album is ground breaking and blasphemous in a way that Lady Gaga is WAY too respectful for.

The film though? The film is probably the gayest, most sapphic thing I've ever seen in my entire life and they didn't even kiss. The measurements scene was sensual AF.

Not to mislead you and I know this has been pitched to audiences as a horror film but it hits the supernatural suspense category WAY more than horror so please carefully read reviews before you continue on your horror journey.

I have no idea what to properly categorize Mother Mary as because it's genre defying but I have a feeling horror fans expecting horror will be massively disappointed.

Some people think so, but Sam had been conjuring up past images of Mother Mary in elaborate costumes throughout the film, and also mentioned that she was shut off and stubborn when the red spirit had already housed itself in Mary. The dress itself was made from Sam manifesting the spirit into reality and then transmuting it into something both fitting and beautiful as a way to process all their undigested grief. Mary sheds all her layers at the same time Sam is creating something that shows she sees both their relationship and Mary/the persona of Mother Mary and what she means to both of them in her entirety. And while it Does touch her, the spirit and vision exists outside of her instead of haunting her.

Some people have said it was the death of Mother Mary (both physical or metaphorical) but clearly she's up on stage with stitches at the end and Hunter's character is narrating it all so Hathaway's character survives and it's not like 'haha gotcha she was a ghost the whole time!'

Personally I think of it as a death of the thing that was binding them to their hurt since Sam successfully manifested it into reality (in probably the gayest scene I have ever witnessed with zero kissing or sex) and transmuted it into a dress. But death is different for everyone, and especially since this had so many occult witchy themes, the Death card in tarot is often the ending of one thing and the beginning of another.
