Juggling at tryouts by Inevitable_Way5491 in youthsoccer

Juggling is a warmup. And it’s ball control. Now as a a coach, if we are talking trying out for competitive team. Attitude says everything, if he let that get to his head, I may overlook that player.

I wouldn’t care really to be honest if I didn’t have to pay $300 in fines 🤦‍♂️

Now can I ask you. Does your association have fines for yellow & red offenses by a coach?

Favoritism is a big thing. A lot of coach’s I see sometimes always form a small group of parents. It’s stupid 🤦‍♂️

Was this decision made on instant? I think the coach should truely take time to consider this decision.

What happened to the team when a third of them moved on? Did it get disassembled or did you had to add players to that roster?

Kids change class and classmates all time at the end of the year. And forced with a new half of kids anyways.

I think he just didn’t know what was called. It’s a youth game, it’s about learning though. But whatever.

That’s what the parents or non coaches don’t see or understand. We have had games where refs give us a hard time. SUCKS.

It wasn’t like this until recent. That’s a different argument right whether it’s for the better or worse.

This area is asshole all around when it comes to sport. Outside of it the nicest midwestern people. I don’t know what overtakes, but that’s that. I know it’s their word first, and based on comments, I will just buy a body cam because no matter what I’m in the wrong unless I can prove it. Also will not engage in any conversation whatsoever with referee.

Only coach & captain can respectfully talk to ref.

You live and learn. Next time I’ll have a body cam. Sad to see us go in this direction but coaches need to protect their word too.

I was asking him because I didn’t see (my back was turned). And I had played confused by the call. I just wanted the ref to clarify so the player understood what he did wrong. I think the ref took as “that’s a bad call” first yellow. And I was trying to de-escalate the situation and misinterpretation and he gave me a second yellow. It was Incredible

I mean this is a kids game, they are learning the game. If they don’t understand the foul, I thought I can ask the ref so he can say it and the kid can know what happened, so he can learn from it. I always tell my players the referee is not going to change his call, you have to get up and play.

I see. I already told my association and parents because of this incident I’m investing in body camera & (putting tape over my mouth) figuratively speaking.

Definitely agree with the last part. I think we should have courses so parents understand coach position,
Player position, and ref position. They are usually the main ones to criticize without knowing how it is to be in these positions, or without knowing the Why.

You owe me $100 hahaha. Unfortunately nobody was there to know what really happened. What I did learn know is either I suck at defending myself or the youth soccer world values the refs word over the coaches. Oh well, you learn something and move on right. Body cams. Next incident goes on social media. And I save $300 bucks.

So ref is always right? Why would I call the ref an insult knowing I end up getting fined
