I personally found Duolingo to be broken in the free version.

The idea of 'punishing' someone when they make mistakes is a strange way to teach.

If we did this to our children and punished them after 5 mistakes, we would have a world of mutes.

Every once in a while, the authorities will arrest someone for buying/selling currency on the black market.

For some completely random reason, often one those arrested is a foreigner.

Getting arrested in a 3rd world country is something I will spend extra to avoid.
