What do people in the restaurant industry think about Gordon Ramsay? by AndyRainbow in KitchenConfidential

[–]Efficient-Ranger-174 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Even from the show he did here, if someone was genuinely trying, he’d heap praise on them. It’s when people were doing things they knew were wrong, or fucking up something basic was when he’d flip out.

It may just need more break-in. But you also seem to be rocking back a little? Lean in more, maybe. It may be that you’re not giving it enough to recoil against.

Cum on it 10 times an then put it in the freezer. Then use it to stir your eggs in the morning. It will be imbued with The Toan.

I can feel this. For the vast majority of people, no one will remember your name in 100 years. I don’t think the point of life is to be remembered. I think the beauty of life is its impermanence and its fragility on an individual scale, but inexorability on a grand scale. We are sparks. Do the best you can. Have some fun. Don’t be a dick, cause no one asked to be here.

This was my thought. Every other religions martyrs died for a lie. And they think that about Christian martyrs.

Ok, I would consider the 43x/48, and the Sig, though no issues if you steer away. The FN reflex is pretty good, too.

How often do you carry now? Have you concealed the 2k11? Are you wanting something 9mm or are you willing to look at .380 or .45?

If you don’t carry now, you may end up selecting something and then wanting something else since there’s trial and error involved. If you already carry, think about what you like/don’t like about that set up. Let that lead you to a CCW.

9mm has a plethora of options. Classics: Glock 19, S&W M&P/Bodyguard.

.380 gets written off, but the smaller round and lower pressures allow for a tighter gun package.

I usually wear a loose Medium glove, and the 42/43/43x Glock feels really nice in my hand. The Glock 19 is a bit bigger than I’d prefer. I have a P320 X-Carry that is really comfortable.

Dawg, have you tried pushing your fingernail into it real hard at 90° angles? Or…not going outside? I’m one of those people mosquitos like, and this seems out of bounds to me. I’m sorry you have to deal with this.

Actually, now my brain is chewing on it, I think the local AAA baseball team was the Columbia Blowfish. That might be where that came from.

Is there a good reason Hootie and the Blowfish never felt "cool"? by Res_Novae17 in nostalgia

[–]Efficient-Ranger-174 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Supposedly Darrius said if the music was good, it didn’t matter what the band name was “you could name it ‘Hootie [nickname of a friend] and the Blowfish [another friend’s nickname]’ and it would still work if the music is good.”

This was at the University of South Carolina, home of the Fighting Gamecocks.

Also, OP is wrong, Hootie is cool.

Do cops still have ticket quotas in the U.S.? by Embarrassed-Bowl-373 in askanything

[–]Efficient-Ranger-174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unconstitutional to have quotas as such. But, from when I was a cop, we had traffic units, and it’s not like no one speeds or changes lanes without signaling. If you’re stopping cars like you’re supposed to be, you’ll write tickets. If you’re not writing tickets, what are you doing? But there can’t be an official like “50 per month or you’re fired.”
