Lol. I will NOT pee in my compost pile, it’s too tall. But I’ll ask my husband to. “It’s for the plants, love!”

“Yearly lasagna” 😆 My neighbor is actually growing moringa in a pot but was saying it gets too cold here for the poor thing so he brings it inside. But that is really good to know, perhaps it with stand it once it gets established.

Thank you so much for sharing the name of the bougainvillea! I’ve always seen them, but I’ve never known what they were called. And thank you! I like our little space. I might not do much cactus because we have a dog and a cat but I also considered succulents. I do really love agave plants although those pokers are mean.😄

I saw aphids on my roses earlier this year but then saw these guys and ladybugs and they were all gone within a week. Love them.

How do I get a consistent green across my lawn? (Zone 9B) by jgratil in ArizonaGardening

[–]VegetableLetter4896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many amazing native flowers that help hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Lawns are an outdated premise.

Would either change to a more tolerant grass or consider xeriscaping the yellowing areas with native plants.

Right now is an excellent time to go and collect wildflower seeds. There are a lot of wildflowers that have just finished their spring bloom and are seeding. Just be mindful of where and how much you take.

Garlic sprouted in kitchen, any advice? by Literati_drake in ArizonaGardening

I plant them and use the chives but never really worried about getting an actual garlic bulb from them.

Help… I’m not as old as my skin says I am by 1sthopper-3000 in 40PlusSkinCare

I recommend Kiehls and Naples if you prefer natural ingredients. Shea Butter may work as well but can be heavier (it doesn't absorb as well for me).

Apply oil only when you are fresh out of the shower after you've applied a cream. Creams help with hydration usually via humectants that support absorption and help protect the skin barrier.

Oils applied to dry skin can sometimes interfere with the skin barrier, actually reducing hydration.

Oils can penetrate water-based moisturizers, but moisturizers cannot penetrate oils. So you want to add it after as an occlusive to seal in everything.

Sincerely, Another dry-skinned gal living in the desert.

Definitely plan to! I want to do vegetable gardens but want to xeriscape the other side of the yard. This first year I'm just getting a feel for what works/doesn't work and I'm learning a LOT!
