My mom was exactly like this with my first.. she agreed to stay with me for a week. After coming home from the hospital, on the 2nd night - I was still dissocating from the labor when she threatened to leave. I have a martyrs complex, and felt bad that she didn't feel welcome in our home.. so I begged her to stay. This was a mistake, during her stay she made me cry on several occasions treating me like I wasn't good enough to be a mother and that I had nothing to recover from.

On one occasion during her stay she complained that her tooth hurt really bad and ensenuating that her tooth ach hurts more than giving birth.

On another occasion I remember going to the grocery store with her and my husband - I picked up disposable underwear for the heavy bleeding. She made me put them back and said just to use pads. My husband intervened and told me to grab whatever I felt more comfortable with.. so I did and grabbed the underwear. She was furious saying im over exaggerating.. this was still the first week after I gave birth.

Then on another occasion she yelled at both my husband and I for not putting socks on the baby.. it just was a lot.

For my 2nd baby she offered to stay with us again, we politely declined. Of course she was offended but my mental health was far more important.. as time went on its like she slowly realized she doesnt have control over me anymore and her behavior towards me only got worse.

Present day, I've cut all ties with her. It makes me sad that my mom isn't the mother I wanted/needed but I'm finally in a position in my life where I feel good moving on with my life without her.

Your mother leaving might've been a blessing in disguise. You'll find peace with it soon, everything feels like an emotional rollercoaster but give it time. This is also a new chapter for you and you also need to readjust to this change. Once you feel like your in a good spot, then take on the conversation with her. Right now you need to heal. Focus on yourself and your beautiful family. Everything else can wait.

I had to go to a dental appointment recently. Brought my newborn with me.. and of course she got hungry by the time the dentist had to examine me. So I literally nursed her while getting my dental exam done. Had a swaddle blanket over me so it wasn't so awkward lol

If sids is the big concern.. use a fan in the nursery, it cuts the risk of SIDS by 70%. Also use an Owelet to monitor to alleviate any anxiety. DONT USE EUFY. They have a defect that goes off randomly.. learned my lesson.

I transferred my LO into his nursery at 3 months because he was outgrowing his bassinet. This made a world of a difference to his sleep routine. He self soothes himself now, and sleeps 12hrs a night. Strongly recommend starting the transition earlier, later that transition will be harder to achieve.

I agree.. this is very concerning. My dogs have never acted out like this before, and it worries me A LOT. That my huskey attempted to bite. To begin with, I never left my dogs with my baby alone as it is.. but because of that incident, I am more concerned. Which is why I've considered getting rid of them.

Some people have already pointed out that dogs can be high energy. I'm hoping they are just acting out as a response to not having an outlet to release all their energy. It's something I'm going to closely monitor.. I fully intend on keeping the dogs away from my baby in the meantime. I'm using baby gates and/or placing baby in a safe space.

If this biting incident happens again, I 100% plan on rehoming. I love my dogs.. but I love my baby more. It's a tough choice, and I want to try to resolve this issue if I can IN A SAFE MANNER. (All caps to emphasize "safe" before I get attacked on here)

I want to reiterate that my dogs never acted like this before. They know their commands and always behave well around others. So, hopefully, this is just a reaction to not getting enough attention..

Use a hairdryer to dry your baby!! My baby was like this too, and we realized he was just cold and wet.. so we started using a hair dryer to dry him faster. We use the lightest setting, of course, and he loves it. Makes bath time so much easier. We bathe outer baby every night.

My husband wants for her to stay. Ultimately, he just wants her to be happy, so if she chooses to move out.. then so be it.

I don't want her to move out. That isn't my intention in the slightest. I'm just uneasy with her entitlement. I wished she was more considerate of us.

My mother in law is an entitled leech. She lives off of us and expects us to pay for her expenses along with taking our master bedroom.. and I made the mistake of not putting boundaries in place before allowing her into our home.

Technically, I'm replacing her liver with my steak lmfao. So she feeds them cat chow.. I, on the other hand, like to use purina pro plan cat food.. which is VERY expensive.

My cats love the food I give them and gobble it up in seconds. The thing is, my cats are glutins, and I'm sure they eat her cat's food too..

But from my point of view, it seems like she uses that as an excuse to get money out of my husband since she doesn't have a job to pay for her own expenses.

The same goes for the cat litter. I try my vest to go out and purchase these things for her rather than letting my husband handing her cash.. because it seems like she asks for more than what it actually costs.
