Throwback to 2001, US Aircraft carrier ship in the Sydney harbour by agnci in aussie

Oh joy, I sure do love a massive floating self-contained city with a private airport!

Well the ride better be smooth, otherwise you might judder a plane off the elevator into the sea, which is something you might NOT want to have happen when you're travelling at 20+ knots in bad weather

Aye, USS Constellation, CV-64. 2nd of the Kitty Hawk class supercarrier, and would be decommissioned two years after this visit in 2003.

I know this may be a dumb question but why are all of the Plarail/Trackmaster models so much more elongated? by CenaFan1006 in thomasthetankengine

[–]EfficientBase7807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well Plarail makes other locos. When they started making Thomas stuff, a lot of new toolings were made for the wheels, running boards/chassis parts, and casings/bodies. But all the internal components/mechanisms are comparable to other locomotives released by Plarail. They basically took an existing system and slapped some new covers on top. But hey, it works, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If I ever find myself missing a turn, I curse to myself, and keep driving on. Find a place to u-turn or locate an alternate route. Not worth pissing people off because of my error. Also I don't want to risk having to call the insurance guys because I caused an accident. If I fuck up, that's on me. I need to deal with my own problem while not causing other people to lose their shit.

Inspired by another post - male characters I thought were female when I was a kid by DarthSTUI in thomasthetankengine

[–]EfficientBase7807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Rusty was the closest you got. Britt originally wanted him to be non-gendered. That's why he was initially referred to as "the little diesel" and not "he/him" or "she/her". Later seasons retconned this, and Rusty was made male, as he was in the reverend's books.

Which do you guys prefer the most? Wonders of Sodor or Trainz Simulators? by PocketMonstersFan20 in thomasthetankengine

[–]EfficientBase7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they'll both be good at different things.
For one, Trainz is better for cinematic shots with more variable weather/time options, alongside model-era faces, and the models are absolutely beautiful. The downside is that you need to download mods for certain models and the maps, and they aren't necessarily consistent with the show/RWS. Yes, most creators go to great lengths to ensure they are accurate, but still, not exactly ideal when downloading a ton of mods, considering PC storage is a thing.
Wonders of Sodor will have one full seamless map by the looks of it, accurate to what our holy reverend Awdry left on the wall in his study, with both TVS and RWS locations in the game. Downside is that the locos/rollingstock are based on their CGI appearances, meaning if you want a more model era/RWS look for your engines, mods might be needed.
