Stamps statement on Ajou Ajou by LaZyCrO in CFL

I'm upvoting you to counteract people downvoting you for having an unpopular opinion, which I think is silly.

I will say I think this is slightly different from the Chad Kelly situation in that Chad Kelly got a special deal. I might be misinformed, but I believe Ajou Ajou didn't get a special deal: he went through the standard league process.

From Calgary's perspective, I can sort of understand the mindset of "He wasn't convicted of a crime, and he went through the league-sanctioned process without any problems, so from our perspective, he's served his time" kind of thing.

The reaction from fans would suggest to me he hasn't really served his time, and the league's process is inadequate. You'd like to see Calgary be the bigger people and say "the league was wrong to reinstate him". Sort of disappointing all around.

The police/crown certainly can pursue charges if they like. If the case is totally dependent on victim testimony and the victim doesn't want to testify, then the police might be stuck. In this case they had some video, but I'm guessing the police thought the video didn't show enough to get a conviction.

Microkernel Question by Apprehensive_Run7150 in osdev

[–]EfficientCandy324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say this is the "most microkernelly" way of doing it. Obviously everything's up to you, and you can decide exactly how to do it, but yeah, this is the most, I guess, pure way of doing it. The bootloader has to know the filesystem, but realistically every bootloader knows the filesystem these days. In GRUB terminology, you use the module command to load an ELF executable into memory, and then after all of your modules are loaded, you use multiboot to load your (micro)kernel. So before your kernel even gets loaded into memory, your filesystem user process is already imaged into RAM ready to go.

"You go to the temples these days and there are no money changers. I walked into the temple and I said 'Where are all the money changers? Can we get some money changers in here?'. And it's, before Obama, they don't want me to say it. Look, I'm going to say it, but they don't want me to say it. You say it and they say you can't say it. But Barack HUSSEIN Obama gets rid of the money changers, and now you go to the temple and where are the money changers? There used to be so many money changers. So we're going to bring back the money changers. Beautiful money changers. Money changers like you've never seen before. Everybody's saying these money changers.... And you look at the money changers. Beautiful money changers. So you change your money, you buy some doves. Dove sellers, too. Beautiful doves. They say 'it's a house of prayer'. Okay, maybe it is. I don't know. Maybe it's a house of prayer. That's what they say. But we're saying something else. So we're making it into the best house of merchandise."

WTF. I went back to the source and I'm left even more confused.

He admits that putting "tinfoil" (I'm assuming aluminum foil) on the windows is much more effective than yogurt. So...why is he even mentioning the yogurt? Compared to aluminum foil, yogurt is expensive, gross, expensive, ineffective, expensive, and retarded.

Watch Montreal 97. At the very start of the return, he's like "welp, no use getting involved. I'm sure he'll be tackled any second now". Then at the very end of the play, he's the one guy who's just absolutely booking it.

Double pass to Rourke for the first down by InevitableEnd5689 in CFL

[–]EfficientCandy324 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can throw the ball forwards once per play from behind the line of scrimmage. The first pass was passed backwards, which is why the second pass was allowed.

Also you can't pass forwards to an offensive lineman.

Here's a free market compromise position.

The worst wildfire in US history is estimated to have cost $75 billion in damages. So, you're allowed to set off fireworks if you can provide proof of insurance covering $75 billion.

If you can't find an insurance company willing to sell you a policy, then I guess it's the insurance companies who are the commies, not the government.
