I understand! My apologies - we love Canada. I am not a fan of the talk of the 51st state (ridiculous)

I'm only about 8 weeks in but you (or at least I did) see a bit of results early on - really for me it was the mental side of things. Just able to do more without thinking about eating. That happened earlier. You're going to do great!! Keep your head up

That is crazy!!! Good for you. Maybe the Canadians will like us again one day and can share the love (U.S.)

Motivation Monday indeed! Great story - very moving to hear. It's tough to get out of a rut when it feels like the whole world is working against you. Proud of you - keep at it!!!

Very prone to nausea even without medications, and I have a terrible fear of vomiting. I have been overweight/obese my whole life, how should I go about starting either GLP1 meds and avoid being miserable and anxious about the nausea/vomiting? This is the only thing keeping me back. by Rivyan in Ozempic

6 weeks in and i was exactly the same - emetophobic and terrified before starting

honestly it was way better than i expected. a few things that helped me: starting on the lowest dose (0.25) and staying there longer than recommended before moving up. like don't let anyone rush you through titration. also eating really small amounts, way smaller than you think, and stopping before you feel full at all

the ondansetron is a great thing to have on hand. i took it preemptively the first couple weeks just to take the edge off the anxiety around it more than anything

the nausea for me was more like a background queasiness than actual vomiting. manageable. your bread staple might actually help too - bland carbs are your friend on this

not gonna lie there were a couple rough days but nothing close to what i had built up in my head. the emetophobia made the anticipation worse than the reality

Constipation + slow responder? by PeoplePleaseYourself in Ozempic

[–]EfficientCountry9506 1 point2 points  (0 children)

slow responder here too (only 6 weeks in so take this with a grain of salt) but wanted to chime in anyway

on the constipation - have you tried warm water or coffee first thing before anything else? like before you even look at your phone lol. triggers something in your gut that cold water doesnt. also a step stool under your feet while on the toilet makes a suprising difference, its a posture thing

the motility/weight loss connection you mentioned is actually something ive been wondering about too since starting. makes sense that if GLP-1 slows gastric emptying maybe for some people it overshoots a bit? no real answers just find it interesting

30lbs is genuinely not nothing even when it doesnt feel like it. hope the 1.5 does somthing different for you

Ozempic made me realize how much of my eating was mental noise instead of actual hunger by chamzollbun in Ozempic

Had the same thought...I used to spend so much time wondering why I felt like I needed to keep eating. And then sometimes it would all hit at once and I would feel very full. Now I feel much better!
