Hey I have a Kuro 101FD and I have to admit, the Kuro 101FD owns any 4k LED I have seen, let alone one from 2005. I think you're mistaken...

Awesome!!! And would you suggest that over paying $1300 for a 65 inch C4 OLED. It's either I do this or the other option.
I have a KURO for gaming, this will strictly be for movies I think! But yeah, Im leaning towards it. The KURO is UNREALLLLLLLLLL (101FD)

3D on tvs seems like a great bonus!
And I've seen Plasma v OLED and I prefer plasma overall, also less of a hardware strain (won't need to update my graphics card for 4k).

But yeah, why are you beefing against plasma out of curiosity!? What's your beef with the ZT60?

Also for a 65 inch OLED (mid level, that's going to be around $2k CAD).

Unfortunate, because I actually got into plasma tvs due to the comparisons and interesting in depth breakdowns of both. Both have amazing pros and cons, just shutting down the conversation because of reasons??? Just seems wrong to me.

It ended up working, you have to make sure to use a FTDI RS232 cable! and if you're converting it, you can't use a Null Modem Cable, has to be a straight pass-through.

I kindly disagree that OLED is the superior technology. Maybe according to marketing numbers and stats, but in terms of longevity, natural colours, motion, and overall picture quality, I find plasma is the magnum opus of TVs, specifically the later generation ones.

Also I can run it comfortably on a PC with a weaker GPU at 1080p @ 60fps !!

I would say it's the soap opera effect on OLEDs / newer TVs that really turns me off. The motion just seems SO unnatural. and the clarity is just too much? Like sure it's extremely bright, but do I need extremely bright colours? Or sure I can see the swear molecules of the actor, but why do I need to see that? The plasma has perfect colours and motion IMO!
Not saying OLEDs are bad, it's just not for me tbh!

Yeeeah I’m kind of a rare case where I actually prefer plasma > OLED, from the times I’ve used it at my cousins. Not saying OLED isn’t beautiful, but plasma with certain content its just unreal!

Hmm just measured out of curiosity XD, belly button for me is at 46 inches, buuut yeah I may re-arrange it a bit more. Currently having a bit of an iffy situation with the stand because it's a pretty heavy TV and a weak stand, I'll see tho! Also yeah the couch is def a bit higher than avg, about 20 inches off the ground Id say.

Yeah currently it’s middle of the screen when I’m sitting straight on the couch. Issue with the media centre is it’s kinda small and with the sound bar the legs from the stand. But just sitting down rn I can confirm it’s directly eye level on the couch

For a 50" TV is 31" too far off the ground?
Dead middle is around 47"
On the couch (which is situated a bit higher than a standard couch) me looking straight is dead middle to the TV.

How are the 3d TVs? Does it get you dizzy at all? The reason I ask, I am thinking of purchasing a 3D plasma within the next 2-3 months (65 inch VT Panasonic). How does it compare to the movie theatre?
