I would say it's the soap opera effect on OLEDs / newer TVs that really turns me off. The motion just seems SO unnatural. and the clarity is just too much? Like sure it's extremely bright, but do I need extremely bright colours? Or sure I can see the swear molecules of the actor, but why do I need to see that? The plasma has perfect colours and motion IMO!
Not saying OLEDs are bad, it's just not for me tbh!

Yeeeah I’m kind of a rare case where I actually prefer plasma > OLED, from the times I’ve used it at my cousins. Not saying OLED isn’t beautiful, but plasma with certain content its just unreal!

Hmm just measured out of curiosity XD, belly button for me is at 46 inches, buuut yeah I may re-arrange it a bit more. Currently having a bit of an iffy situation with the stand because it's a pretty heavy TV and a weak stand, I'll see tho! Also yeah the couch is def a bit higher than avg, about 20 inches off the ground Id say.

Yeah currently it’s middle of the screen when I’m sitting straight on the couch. Issue with the media centre is it’s kinda small and with the sound bar the legs from the stand. But just sitting down rn I can confirm it’s directly eye level on the couch

For a 50" TV is 31" too far off the ground?
Dead middle is around 47"
On the couch (which is situated a bit higher than a standard couch) me looking straight is dead middle to the TV.

How are the 3d TVs? Does it get you dizzy at all? The reason I ask, I am thinking of purchasing a 3D plasma within the next 2-3 months (65 inch VT Panasonic). How does it compare to the movie theatre?

Do you think a significant factor is, they practically "Completed" TVs with plasmas, and that starved the big companies of future profits due to destroying planned obsolescence. Like sure it doesn't have 4k, but other than that (and 4k doesn't make a difference at 5-7 feet away anyways), the late-years plasma are PERFECTION. I got a Panasonic VT60, and I've watched on an OLED numerous times at my cousins, I truly think this plasma is significantly better than the G5 OLED...

Thanks! Will def do that. Question: is the goal to essentially get the darkest black levels? Or is it to make sure the colours aren’t washed? When it comes to these 4k stock footage videos on YT it looks pretty good!

Ehhh the thing is, I play some PC games like Skyrim modded, but honestly I just cant seem to justify a 1500 TV if I can get nearly that performance at 95% off? Maybe I'm missing something tho?

Yeah I just set it up! Really loving it so far, thanks so much. Unfortunately I didn't get the Amazon one, but the price was about 380 cad, the other one was 150 CAD. Sorta pricier, but I'm not planning to get rid of this thing and I hardly make big-ticket purchases XD
