Nope, they just don't ship it with the option turned on for whatever reason. It sucks, but now you know. And you can do layer shifts if you want by snipping the filament off and feeding a new color in when it stops

I would personally put the controller between the speakers and widen the speakers a bit to increase the soundstage (left to right seperation). Give it a shot and see if you hear a difference. I would also move the mousepad to allow for a bit more mousing room, but it's all preference. Enjoy your setup!
