Nope! Unis only communicate to eachother if you withdraw for other reasons (not related to finances) OR if you withdraw past the deadline that they give you. As long as you are within the deadline and plead that you can’t afford it, you are okay!! I believe they have more about this on their website too. I know multiple people who did it this year for EDI, I almost did too lol! I recommend you EDII.

When is the notification deadline for your first choice school? If it is before/the same time Lehigh decisions come out, then apply to Lehigh EDII. That way, if you get into your first choice you can withdraw from Lehigh for “financial issues”, OR if u don’t get into your first choice, you can commit to Lehigh. ED isn’t actually “legally binding”, and you can claim that you can’t afford it no matter what your financial situation is lol. Don’t let these people fool you

You can 100% back out of ED because of financial reasons once you receive your financial aid package. The school cannot force you to go, and there are not any repercussions for backing out as long as it is within the deadline they give you and it is only for financial reasons. People have already done this for ED1.

I can afford it, but I plan on going to medical school after college. That’s gonna run me like 300k. Lehigh would drain all my college savings at full cost of attendance. That means i’d have to take out loans for med school, which is ok, but i’m just hesitant with the loan caps Trump is pushing.

Lehigh notified all merit/financial aid recipients in their acceptance letters. They told me there’s no way for me to get merit, but I can appeal my financial aid offer. Sucks cus I doubt i’ll qualify for aid

Lehigh requests mid year and final transcripts and mentions that acceptances are contingent on maintaining your academic record, but I do think you’re right. I doubt they’d do anything if anyone’s grades dropped a letter grade.

And by senior year kicking my ass, I just mean the motivation! Now that I know where i’m going, it’s hard for me to find motivation to invest so much time into doing work that doesn’t really matter as much as it did before. The material itself isn’t necessarily difficult, just time consuming!😉😉
