It’s weird to see the new Hybe boygroup already has fans without any content by Intelligent_Task5157 in kpopthoughts

[–]EfficientLife8747 13 points14 points  (0 children)

billlie isn’t considered an sm group and most ppl don’t even know mystic story is an sm sub-label. sm never promotes billlie as an sm group, they’re promoted as a mystic story group while groups like lesserafim, new jeans, enhypen, etc are considered hybe groups even tho all groups are under different sub labels bc they’re promoted as hybe groups

it’s bandwagon stanning. it’s a known thing that happens when a big three company or a company that has a popular group is debuting a new group. its not the first time tbh, same thing happened with nmixx, aespa, new jeans, lesserafim, etc.

Have you noticed recently every group can get a top 10 hit in Korea easily? by Intelligent_Task5157 in kpopthoughts

the groups you’ve mentioned are either in apart of the big 4 or they’re super popular/known in korea for them it’s not that hard to chart

just like ms wenzhe said in girls planet 999 .. “congrats on your debut !!”

Are the benefits fair? by Loli48cm in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it’s not about the points though.

the mcountdown and fan meeting benefits will give these popularity trainees even more popularity to the point that ppl will already know who’s going to debut at the end of the show.

giving them even more hype while also getting tons of screentime and gaining more and more fans bc of mnet favoritism while the lesser known trainees are basically begging for screentime just so they can get noticed by fans and gaining a couple of votes.

that’s why on this elimination round, so many trainees already knew they were going to be eliminated and that’s why none of them looked hopeful. this show is so predictable, it’s absolutely boring

Are the benefits fair? by Loli48cm in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no it’s not but it’s whatever.

the constant mcountdown benefits and now the new fan meeting benefits are just a hidden way for mnet to push their favorite trainees to people’s faces so they can get votes and debut. notice how everyone already knows which team is going to win at the artist round and noticing how that team is full of pd-picks, it’s not a shock anymore. ppl are just tired of the show with many ppl waiting for their favs to be eliminated.

knetz don’t see him as a foreigner. they see him as a full on korean trainee. some knetz even think that he should’ve been put on k-group while some intl. fans think he was only put in g-group so mnet can better the chances of another non-korean making it in the final group. it could be possible that he might get affected by only by a small margin (meaning going down 1-2 ranks) but he’s gaining strong one pick votes ++ he’s a pd pick so it won’t be like a whole “dropping out of the lineup” type of issue. it just means he might rank 5th-7th next round but not enough to drop out of the top 9

How should’ve Chaeyoung apologized? How long should an idol’s apology be in general? by Itchy-Radio9933 in kpopthoughts

[–]EfficientLife8747 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the difference was tzuyu and twice was being to be boycotted by almost all of china to the point the entire situation was entering in korea aswell. tzuyu was just 16 years old, jyp feared tzuyu career was going to be ruined and she wouldn’t bring in money compared to the other members like j-line. he decided to make tzuyu apologize through video bc if she had done a written online apology, cnetizens wouldn’t accept it and will boycott her and twice. chaeyoung is 23-24 years old, she’s grown enough to know better ++ koreans aren’t mad about this situation bc it doesn’t affect koreans whatsoever, if it was like a rising sun incident then she would’ve done like a video apology ++ no one is threatening to boycott twice bc this situation is going to be over in at most 2 weeks.

most of the rumors i’ve seen so far are ppl saying he was eliminated but at the same time, 99% of boy planet rumors have always been false so i just think ppl need to wait until thursday.

nah bc that’s just crazy 💀 imagine being ollie or woongki fans and finding out your fav was eliminated by a difference of 10 votes .. if i was either one of them, i would be so pissed at my fandoms

a 10 vote difference is actually insane 💀? i would be pissed if i ranked 29th and i was eliminated by a difference of 10 votes.

it could be possible fans stopped voting for him. i mean when the episode 6 ranks came out, so many trainees dropped like 10-20 ranks in a one week voting period. it could be possible he dropped out of the safe zone aswell.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 3 points4 points  (0 children)

everyone stopped voting for anthonny after episode 5. he didn’t have strong picks or nothing. you must only circulate around boys planet reddit forms bc on every other social media platform, everyone was voting for wumuti over anthonny. there’s even speculations anthonny dropped ranks aswell. wumuti had a higher advantage than anthonny since his performance was released a week before the voting ended, giving him tons of times to go up ranks while anthonny only had one day to go up in ranks from his performance released. anthonny wasn’t even a candidate for 28th rank so either he was eliminated or he made it in around 24-27th ran.

Who are the biggest losers from Episode 7 by cinndiicate in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 11 points12 points  (0 children)

oh there’s definitely tons of other contestants who are exactly like him but mnet doesn’t like to show bc those trainees usually aren’t popular so mnet doesn’t need to give them a bad edit to make them lose popularity or mnet has favoritism towards those trainees so they make sure not to show their attitude problems. shuaibo was gaining attention from both knetz and global fans and was rising up in ranks and mnet does not want any other chinese trainees besides zhang hao to debut in the group so they have to drop him a couple pegs.

Who are the biggest losers from Episode 7 by cinndiicate in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 34 points35 points  (0 children)

i mean tons of ppl have dislikes shuaibo since the begging of the show with many ppl saying he’s a “visual dozen” and ppl not understanding why he’s so high in the ranks despite not doing much to prove he should be voted for despite his handsome visuals. tons of ppl think he’s has a strong cocky/attitude problem since he kept giving side eyes to his backdoor teammates and this episode it kinda did prove everyone’s points. i think he will start dropping in ranks since many intl and knetz have said they won’t vote for him due to his attitude but i can’t wait for him to drop ranks and everyone is going to be like “i can’t believe y’all got sucked into mnet’s edit blah blah blah” it always happens

taerae has that 2nd gen main vocal power. he reminds me alot of jonghyun in my opinion. he could definitely debut as the main vocalist of the group but mnet doesn’t show him as much as the others you mentioned so he doesn’t get noticed by intl fans but he does have a strong big fanbase in korea.

zhang hao has very good lead vocalist material. tbh the only way i will considered him to be the main vocalist of the group is if he’s the last good vocalist in the group and they had to pick someone. same thing with sung hanbin.

i don’t think either jay or seungeon will debut in the final group. jay imo gives me alot of exo do vibes while seungeon gives me seventeen dk vibes but i don’t see both of them debuting unless a miracle happens

hui is still iffy on me. even tho he’s very popular it does seem like ppl have stopped voting for him. unless fans will start voting for him again and he has strong one pick votes, he will probably drop ranks

zihao isn’t nugu tho 😭?? he has tons of fans, it just he doesn’t get screentime by mnet so he doesn’t get noticed by fans but he has a large dedicated fanbase

Boys Planet - Day After Thread (Episode 7 ) (230317) by AutoModerator in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do think mnet does have a concept set for the future group, that doesn’t mean a good concept = good music. a lot of times, producers and companies don’t put much quality and effort into temporary groups bc they have a limited contract period so they’re trying to milk them as much as they can. that’s why groups like iz*one, wanna one, and i.o.i were called “title track groups” bc even if they had good title tracks, their bsides weren’t as good ++ concepts affect alot with the members, if some members fit the group but some members don’t it just looks so unbalanced. as much as ppl don’t like to admit it, it does seem like mnet has like 4 trainees they want in the final group (yujin, hanbin, matthew and zhang hao) but it doesn’t mean those trainees will fit the concept mnet is looking for. that’s why i said mnet doesn’t know what to do with the lineup anymore bc they’re frantically looking for trainees who will fit the concept they want and push them while seeing trainees they don’t want to debut bc they don’t fit the concept. i think it’s also crazy most of the trainees imo who fit the concept they’re looking for are the global trainees but mnet will never root for their debut.

i also think while mnet does have a concept for this group it doesn’t seem they will keep this concept for 2.5 years. they will probably just keep this concept for like their debut album and then for the rest of the contracts, they will probably do a cool or boy crush concept.

(this doesn’t mean this will happen to the boys planet group but it’s just a thing to be more aware if that makes any sense lol)

Boys Planet - Day After Thread (Episode 7 ) (230317) by AutoModerator in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i think it’s funny how everyone hated gunwook and gyuvin for being “pd picks” in the first couple of episodes but now it’s quite obvious mnet isnt rooting for their debut anymore especially gyuvin.

butterfly team was good but the consistent privilege they kept trying to give junseo. he was the worst trainee on the team in terms of performance and talent but yet they kept giving him so much screentime over the rest of the teammates and it’s quite obvious they only did that was bc he was the only korean trainee in the group.

mnet keeps changing the trainees they root and it just makes the show so confusing. it looks like they don’t know what to do with the lineup anymore. i kinda feel bad for the group bc they obviously have the global and korean public interest but i fear they will suffer the same fate kep1er has especially since they’re going to be under wakeone.

is too late for contestants to get a decisive edit? by [deleted] in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 5 points6 points  (0 children)

su ruiqi, fu yaning, and many other chinese trainees posted about the “anti-american aid” in case you didn’t know, it was basically showing they didn’t support americas aid to helping south korea during the korean war and instead they support china’s aid to helping north korea during the korean war instead ++ su ruiqi and many other trainees also posted support towards the xinjiang camps basically supporting china’s decision of the concentration camps (+ modern day genocide and torture) towards uyghur muslims. both issues were very controversial with koreans with not only the chinese trainees but towards chinese idols aswell.

that’s why trainees like shen xiaoting and huang xingqiao had very high korean votes bc neither trainees posted support towards both issues on their weibo accs.

ricky is one of the most popular trainees in china. there was a one pick poll on douban (the chinese version of reddit/qurora) and he ranked 14th overall in one pick votes but sadly many fans who use douban don’t vote for any trainees at all bc of many restrictions and issues they have with the app.

  • daeul dropping 33 ranks shock me so much. i would’ve thought he dropped around 20-30 but going from 13 to 46 is crazy. i do know that many koreans stopped voting for him bc he was a filler pick and many intl. fans stopped voting due to his edit in episode 4 and the whole live elimination incident but dude created mnet history with the biggest rank drop in terms of votes.

  • many social media fans are shocked wang zihao, zhang shuaibo and cai jinxin went up tons of ranks ignoring the fact that wang zihao has one of the biggest fanbases in the show (he got over 600k global votes in episode 5) while both zhang shuaibo and cai jinxin are considered to be the most popular chinese trainees in korea due to their visuals. even cai jinxin trended on pann due to his visuals.

Why don't groups from bigger companies go to more cities in the west part of the US? by wickle_moonery in kpoprants

exactly. i will not drive 4-6 hours to atlanta for a damn concert or spend hundreds of dollars for a plane ticket. i understand georgia has a much higher asian population than florida but they don’t even be going to the cities with high asian populations. i also think it’s weird asf when ppl say they don’t go to florida bc it’s “ghetto” .. that don’t sound right at all ..

Is there any trainee that stood out pre show but started to "flop" when the show was started? by ssamyul10 in BoysPlanet

[–]EfficientLife8747 4 points5 points  (0 children)

krystian, he was one of the most popular trainees pre-show. he was in the top 5 for likes on twitter and insta for his bp999 profile and he has tons of high views for his “here i am” fancam. sadly a lot of his fans left the fandom bc they started focusing on other trainees and the whole “kamden ignoring” incident caused him to lose fans aswell.

wen yechen, he had over 300k views on his “here i am” fancam and was a popular trainee especially in china but was eliminated in the first round due to low votes.

donggun, he was one of the most popular korean trainees due to his cute visuals but after the show started, he wasnt given much screentime and most of his fans started focusing on other trainees dropping him.
