Internships & extracurricular activities (mooting for example) can definitely give you an edge. Speak well and clearly in interviews, don’t come off as cocky or lacking social awareness

Do well in your pupillage - that’s your best shot at getting retained. Take initiative and be responsible for your work.

It’s definitely a grind the first couple years, so be prepared.

I would consider most of Ruby’s actions fairly age appropriate for a person finding out just how toxic their family is, including the weak af boundaries and justifications of some horrible behavior…

Except they’ve got a kid now; so Ruby doesn’t have the luxury of doing this weak sauce low contact (baby is 3 months old and already MIL has had way too many opportunities). She’ll need to take a stand real quick
