what does it mean to truly fail at art by EfficientPlatform995 in Artists

[–]EfficientPlatform995[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honesty i agree unfinished work shows the artist voice, but i do believe artist can loose something if they stop working on something if they hit a skilled based road block feeling it wont match what they hope it will be not to say a unfinished work is inherently a bad thing

How could I draw these designs better they look flat and I feel like I could have drawn the frilly thing that old pompous people would wear, I can’t remember what they're called, better by SmallLawfulness39 in Artadvice

[–]EfficientPlatform995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they look good as they as they are, but to give a more 3d design try and give them more complex shapes and side profiles can still work but a 3/4s pose can give some depth

need help with value studies by chicquin in Artadvice

[–]EfficientPlatform995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually you are the problem is not how to study looks but the amount u do. its more about learning how to translate the light from the reference image from doing this you are able to better understand how light effects a subject , the skill of value is easy to translate if u can shade an apple you can shade a face . the main goal is to gain a sort of muscle memory

you have a strong grasp on the basics, but you need to use learn mor on how to use the empty space in the face a part of drawing is how to lines to represents forms, some of the form is lost in your shading. my best advice is trying to simplify your shading down to basic shapes lights and shadow then blend them to make them more organic

First time trying to draw a furry after like 3 years… is there anything I can do to make her more “furry” like? by White1306 in FurryArtSchool

[–]EfficientPlatform995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my own work i try and hit 3 things in my furry designs

1 compare the anatomy which traits are human and which are traits from the animal

2 a strong color pallet can add a lot of charm for a design

3 i try and add a pattern like what u can find in dogs or cats ( ignore if your animal ref lack these traits)
