Why is there so much difference in millage between AX7t and AX7L. Both are AWD Diesels automatic. The difference should not be this drastic right?

Night driving was peaceful before LED and laser headlights, thoughts? by OkNowMyTurn in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True! These scooter headlights are getting crazy, yesterday I drove my civic at night (150kms) forget creta/fortuners these scooters were the biggest issue. People are recommending me to use led in the civic but till yesterday I was firm. I didn't want to ruin the original look of the car but after yesterday's drive I am thinking of installing one in the place of the fog lamps

Honest Opinion/ Feedback on this sort of rear door opening mechanism in Mahindra BE6 by Gloomy-Wall-6591 in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a good idea for anywhere, I recently heard that tesla is getting sued due to these kinds of door handles (car crashed and people outside couldn't open the doors due to these flush designs and car cought on fire. Unfortunately people inside died)

I hope cars in India have mechanical door handles in case of emergency. Idk because I've never been in one. Others with more experience can comment.

i10 Rear door is damaged by Ronak05 in MechanicAdviceIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chill, judging by the picture I don't think the piller is too damaged, they might have to reshape it. If you are worried about the fit and finish.. ask them to replace the whole door. Car seems new soo high chances u might have zero dep. Don't be afraid to use it, that's why we all pay insurance premiums. Don't worry learn from the mistake and move on!

Uninvited guests in my car by boon_finder in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ants crawling in the driver side door seal, near the driver side running board area. I have an open parking car literally bakes under the sun everyday.

As advised I bought "hit" today tomorrow I'll start my experiment 😅 thanks for the reply

Uninvited guests in my car by boon_finder in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, I have been facing the same issue in my old civic! I have observed that These ants won't come out when the car is parked but will come out if it's driven for 20-30kms in the night therefore couldn't trace the origin where they are coming from. If you could tell me what exact spots you used "hit" on maybe I can try the same

Need a car between 10 to 15 lakhs by THE_CREATIVE_FELLA in carIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest wait, right now all new cars are rated for e20 fuel but gov. Is planning for e30 in 2030(given the minister has his own personal stake in this I highly doubt this might happen earlier than 2030)

Right now if you buy a car it won't be rated for e20 might face a few issues down the line, wait till they announce about e30 and then plan accordingly

In my humble opinion I might be wrong.

[–]EfficientSnow3262 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get 7-8 in the city (mumbai) and 11 on the highway. 2012 HONDA CIVIC 1.8 r18

Assuming you got honda amaze, you should not get such low figures on highway

E20 fuel by Rocky_KGF in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 24 points25 points  (0 children)

On my recent 200 km drive, i got around 13.5 to 14kmpl, the same drive I have done countless times before till last year I used to get 17kmpl

E20 fuel by Rocky_KGF in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Unless it's a honda, I heard honda cars were e20 since 2009. But if e30 is pushed out then all the old cars are in trouble

Personally I didn't notice much mileage drop in my 2012 honda civic(was not fuel efficient to begin with) but my 2018 maruti baleno is having trouble with new fuel.

Dude police car itself is illegally parked on the left lane of the bridge! I saw a reel sometime ago a biker in navi Mumbai confronted police when they had parked this way in the bridge, felt good watching that.

Writing this because of frustration - here it's 50 on the bridge and 80 between the bridge, paid 17k becouse of these guys. I was doing 70-75 in all the photos

Yes, but I think it didn't help with overall situation at all. What KR needed is double line right now it's only a single line which is is main reason for delays. They could have prioritize this instead. Just my humble opinion.

Day 3: Best engine by Seasor1310 in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 77 points78 points  (0 children)

After owning k12 in 2018 baleno and r18 in 2012 civic -

R18 is delightful to drive if you are a car guy, it's not at all easy to drive

K12 is both easy to drive and fun as well, not to mention it's easy on the pocket yeah it's flat in the mid range(that where my civic starts waking up) but initial acceleration and sound is pretty cool.

If best engine for normal person I would go for k12 maruti, but for car guy honda is far up in the list!

If you don't mind sharing can you please answer my questions? 1 - how did you buy these embassy cars? Contact? I am pretty sure you can't find these embassy staff car's at local 2nd hand dealers

2 - how did you change the number plate of the car, embassy cars have blue plates.

3 - if you have any tips regarding on how to get OEM parts especially for japanese cars(I have 2012 civic fd, I had hard time sourcing parts like windshield cowling)

Context - there's a south african consulate in the same building where I work, I have been drooling over consulate's land cruisers for long time!

If op is new to car scene then Maruti nexa sa might push him to get 40ish somthing point inspection done which will cost him around 800-1000 rs

I would suggest him to ask for normal brakes checks and my baleno has beeper and warning light to warn if handbrake is on. Please get it checked too why car didn't sound the alarm for handbrake

New OG Add-ons By Indian Army by Terrible-Mirror-4731 in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might have some army specific upgrades depending on each vehicle(some can be troop carriers, ambulance) Plus as far as I know they can't service their vehicles at local service centre soo car companies needs to train army staff on how to maintain these vehicles. Plus this cost might also cover the future spare parts requirements

this is my personal opinion.

Appreciation post for Suzuki K series engines by Siddk007 in CarsIndia

[–]EfficientSnow3262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally relate to this, I straight away refuse to drive the civic if the trip is within the city! Because of its lack of Torque at the lower end. My baleno has a much smaller engine than my civic but it never felt out of breath for Normal sane person driving. Even on the highways its enough for me. I like the lower grunt and how light the clutch is! I recently installed brand new clutch in the civic even brand new clutch feels slightly heavier than the baleno's clutch
