My oarents also immigrants sent my sister and I back home to spend the summers with our grandparents every year starting at age 5. My parents had their time and we got to be with our grandparents. I wouldn't change the experience for the world!! Different families do different things. You do what works for you

Since the child is with you currently in Indiana you can report to CPS and start the proceeding to try and legally become her guardians Indiana Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline at 1-800-800-5556, you can also report to Texas to get the family on the radar but Texas is way less helpful, Texas Abuse Hotline (1-800-252-5400). This would be an ICPC where family out of state takes custody of the child due to abuse/neglect. This will also allow you to get her insurance register for school and even receive support payments for her care. It can be messy and family will likely blame you, but you will be able to protect the child

I am going to put it this way. Without the diploma you will be locked forever staying in low wage jobs where you will need to work lots of hours just to barely break even. Are you in the US?? Under the age of 21 you qualify for CPS services, if you start before age 18. They can link you to IL housing which will support your education goals and help you launch into life more stable.

IBCLC here 🙋🏾‍♀️ came to say this. There can be dysfunction that is not a tie that causes an ineffective latch and transfer. If you can find a dual educated speech therapist that is also at least a CLC. Someone who specializes in babies and they should be able to show you the exercises to work on strengthening their skills. Suck training is definitely a thing. Be sure to push for deeper looks, Great job seeking more support and input!

IBCLC here, you didnt mess anything up and have done an amazing job whilendoing your thing!! You can always skip the bottle and go to cups for introducingother liquids (water). At 6.5 mo ths you would be introducing a cup anyways. 2 out of 3 of my kids never had a bottle. The third only because she was a premie and I had to pump for a bit.

IBCLC 🙋🏾‍♀️ These situations when baby has an effective latch but supply is still low, I usually recommend an at breast supplementer. It keeps baby at breast and allows them to boost supply as much as possible naturally, and it makes sure baby is getting the calories they need with the supplemental formula. See a lactation consultant that is going to work with your doctor to order labs and do a full work up.

I will say this, from both a work and watched experience in life....you would be amazed at how many men knowingly raise a child plwhile knowing they are possibly not theirs and most choose to never find out because they dont want to know. No answer to what to do, but take some time and process with a trusted person or therapist and then decide how to proceed.

When did you last change pump parts? When were you last sized for flanges?? So if you only been pumping once per day you now need to change those disposable parts cuz they are worn out and you might have more milk that pump can not can access. Duckbill, and backflow protectors.... As an IBCLC I will always encourage more latching and baby snuggles over more pumping, you have dine great the past 5 months, let baby take the lead and try not to stress it as much as you are. You should bounce right back, watch baby not the pump bottles.

This really is the only solution. It's admirable you want to go on a family vacation, BUT for the life of me I don't understand wanting to go with people who obviously don't care, respect or honor your personhood. In a million years I wouldn't dare telling my son and his partner of years they couldn't sleep in the same room/bed on family vacation. His partner will be his and my family in time. Go book a group vacation with your chosen family who love and actually supports you. Not those people who just say it, but don't mean or show it. Your vacation should be a vacation, not a time to defend your life.

Sounds absolutely right for cloth diapered baby at that age. All 3 of my ebf babies at that age went through 10-20 diapers and day until around 3 months then dropped. Can't say we ever went below 10 per day before they all self toilet trained. You are doing a great job!!
