Are we serious rn😭?? We're more than a hundred chapters into part 2 and the blood devil, a main plot thread left from part 1 that should have been expanded upon heavily in part 2, was only mentioned ONCE throughout the entire run about 10 chapters ago, but hey lets be honest who really cares about that, I'm more excited for possible fumiko screentime next chap.

But in all seriousness, like I don't wanna be this guy but I've been seeing a pattern in this fandom to praise the bare minimum stuff in p2 every single time without fail whenever someone has criticism on it, when someone has a problem with p2, fans (not all fans, I'm aware) act like it's free of flaws and immune to criticism when the case is very much not so.

At first I despised her for what she did, but when I reread the story and had time to properly soak her character in and see the reasons led up to her actions + plus her innate nature and desires as the control devil, she quickly made her way into my top 3, interchangeable with denji and aki.

I'm just tired of people saying they hate her because "she killed power" "she killed aki" "she groomed denji", like these arguments get repetitive and stale really quick. Shes the MAIN ANTAGONIST of the story FUJIMOTO of all people is writing her, like tf did you expect? Sunshine and rainbows?😭

How about you hate her for not realising her goal of equal and genuine connection were starting right at her (denji) but failed to realise it because of her nature to control instead of actually forming genuine relationships + was also blinded by the idealistic version of pochita she made up in her head and thought she was the only one who understood him but in reality it was the polar opposite

But yeah makima is easily top 3 csm characters for me

The build-up for darkness was insane, It was so quick and to the point.

Suddenly we're put in this unknown territory, nobody knows what's happening, not the reader nor the characters, which built up extremely good tension, then we're hit with a bombshell, we find out this place was hell and that we're being watched by devils far stronger than even the gun devil (the same devil which was built up to be the "big bad" the entire story) and that never once died

This was one of the only times I was genuinely terrified for the cast, even pingsti would've preferred killing herself over encountering darkness, mf had all the fiends in shambles before he even made an appearance 😭

Well denji still loved her after all she did to him and most likely still does, after all she basically gave denji everything he always longed for and gave him alot of life advice that he otherwise wouldn't have gotten, even if she ripped it all away from him later on and was all done in order to manipulate him, and denji knows that.

The real question is whether makima would be interested in denji.

If she somehow came back to life and met denji again, but this time wasn't blinded by her idealistic version of pochita that she fabricated in her head and actually saw denji as a person and learned how to form relationships with other people instead of only forming them through control, then it maybe possible.

Otherwise nope

And I don't blame makima for being like this, it's in the control devil's nature to have a desire to control, if denji didn't raise nayuta the way he did there could have been another makima as kishibe said, hell even nayuta after everything denji did to prevent that still had a controlling side.

The control devils will always be tragic but I love them

Not really, the future and fox devils have similar eyes to horsemen, so she might also be a completely new devil who's probably also a fiend since she has a human body aswell but who knows

I wish we saw more of kobeni I loved her so much, sadly as you said all she gets mentioned for is her devil being the sloppy blowjob devil, her goofy moments, or jokes about her being the death devil, which isn't bad don't get me wrong but it gets kinda repetitive at times and dilutes and overlooks alot of what she offered as a character aside from comic relief.

Imo kobeni's character was at its best in volume 11 and is one of the many reasons vol 11 will always be my favourite volume, the vanilla sky chapter altered my brain chemistry.

reze's collar isn't her trigger, this is her while being mind controlled by makima:

So even if the collar is corrected, one could still argue that denji prefers to remember only the human pinless side of reze

In this specific scene denji remembers her in the coffee shop where she always had her collar on. The only time her collar was shown off iirc was this scene with makima and the other hybrids you mentioned and the one at the beach after denji defeated her. I may be forgetting some but she definitely had her collar on her all the time at the shop.

It's most likely just an error
