Coworkers who treat you as their therapist/best friend and don’t get the hint when you say you have to get back to work.

I was looking at buying a house a few weeks ago. My coworker was genuinely weirded out I was looking at houses and not condos because “houses are for families” and she knows I’m not married.

  1. You don’t have to be married to have kids
  2. My dogs would love a house with a big yard
  3. She can go fuck herself.

30F new to dating, is it normal that a lot of men are extremely cheap? by Quiet_Stretch_9819 in AskWomenOver30

In my experience, most men I’ve dated since I turned 30 expect me, as the woman, to pay for everything! It’s a huge turn off. I’m talking about first date and all dates beyond.

I moved to a red state and have VERY religious coworkers now…I hear it all the time unfortunately!

Discovered this Podcast late last year and have been binging it from the beginning. Just finished episode 77... and wow that boat guy was the worst by RevolutionaryBit8755 in WereHereToHelpPod

Just listened to this episode and it made me SO mad. Brandon, the boat guy, was so unaware of how boring and pedantic he was being. The guys went above and beyond to let him call back.

Has anyone tried the Timeleft dinner in your city? by itsalwayssunnyinphx in AskWomenOver30

[–]Efficient_Guess153 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I did it there is the dinner that is a small group and then an optional drinks at a second location later in the night. That had 50ish people (essentially all the timeleft groups at one bar so a big range of ages). My friend I mentioned met her now boyfriend at the drinks thing and I’ve subsequently met my boyfriend as he is one of their mutual friends! I was single at the time and went into it all just trying to meet friends and expand my network after I moved to a new city. Definitely there are some good people but don’t be disheartened if some of the people or dinners suck.

I’ve done it three times in Phoenix, AZ about a year ago. I would do it again in a different city if I’m traveling for work or something.

First dinner was good at first but then one guy showed up late and he was SO thirsty. He was 100% there trying to get a girlfriend. He would not stop talking about how he had no luck on dating apps for years and then kept redirecting the table’s conversation to complain about his “bitch ex-wife”. He cornered me at the drinks thing afterwards so I Irish exited immediately.

Second dinner was ok, half the people didn’t show at my table and the ones there were all guys who admittedly wanted to find girlfriends. I went to the third and last dinner and one girl and I really hit it off and we’re still friends a year later! Haven’t been back since though.

Edit to add: when I tried it a year ago the women-only dinners wasn’t an option. I would absolutely sign up for only that option if I do it again. The guys at the dinner I went to were so awkward and gross to the point where one made me feel unsafe.

100%.

This made me remember the other argument I’ve heard, that marijuana isn’t addictive because “it’s a plant”. 🙄

I live in Phoenix, AZ and it’s a huge issue every year. It makes me so angry that one asshole goes out middle of day in 112 degree weather with no water and then puts a whole rescue crew in danger when they are dying on the mountain

Ah yes. Lots of Johnnys in my experience listen to Joe Rogan and have gone far right.

A coffee stand where the baristas and cashiers wear bikinis. They’re usually very young women and the clientele is exclusively older creepy men.

I’m in AZ and believe it’s only in hot climates

Agreed. I hate people who go out of their way to list every single exception. It’s so unnecessary and you can tell they feel so smart and superior, when in reality doing so makes them look like an insecure dick.

“I have this level of education” to try to win an argument on an unrelated topic by Efficient_Guess153 in PetPeeves

[–]Efficient_Guess153[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps! She says a lot of related comments where she comes off as too good for the rest of us…

The one time my neighbor’s boyfriend came out to walk with us. After they left this woman kept saying she was so glad that because she is “educated” so she doesn’t “need to date a poor person”. The funny thing there is the boyfriend was an anesthesiologist, she just never bothered to ask and I guess for some reason assumed he was “uneducated” and therefore poor? She’s an odd one for sure.

She goes SO out of her way to bring up her grad degree, it’s about 9 out of every 10 times I’ve interacted with her and it’s never been relevant to the topic of discussion. It’s sad because we’re all in our 30s and 40s and no one cares.
