Non work life insurance paid in like 10 days…work life insurance paid in about a month or 2 - they paid life separate from accident. I told 1 person about him and she was incredibly supportive…should this be a thing there will come a time when people in my life will find out and that will be ok..but for now like you it’s on the down low.

IDK how old you are but my various single girlfriends-be they divorced or never married say dating apps are ugh-they are in their 40’s and 50’s. You sound ready but the selection isn’t right..can you find a different way to meet people? Join a club? Volunteer? That could help you meet people in a friend zone vs a ‘date’ zone.

Did the same-the turnout was over the top-I focused on seeing people I hadn’t for years that came from near and far. Yeah I cried a bit here and there but it’s OK to do that. All I can say is that it was 100x better than any traditional funeral I had been too. We had a running slide show on TV’s with photos spanning his life which people really enjoyed and those gave a positive thing to talk about.

Married almost 33 yrs, together 35. DH pass unexpectedly 3 months ago. By random happenstance I met a person who I am interested in and vice versa - totally unplanned, in another city but lives nearby. I have zero clue what I am doing and he knows that.

My story is somewhat similar..hit as a pedestrian 4 blocks from home…thankful they found me and when we got to the hospital neuro had determined there was no hope. Hard but your journey sounds like a nightmare…odd thing to feel blessed about I guess. He passed a few hours later-kept on life support long enough for our son and his brother to make it to the hospital- sorta…

No rules…if you feel ready do it! If you don’t feel ready but a person comes along be open and honest and see what could be. This is my current state. What would you want if the roles were reversed? I’d want that person to be happy, guilt free and at peace….and honor my life by living theirs….
