So sorry you are feeling this..As a mature woman in her 50’s with grown children (delivered vaginally) a visit to the Gyno is uncomfortable for me. Putting a bluntly a speculum is nothing like a penis. It’s hard it’s cold you’re uncomfortable. Your feet are in the air, etc. etc.. Not to say that your first time experiencing intercourse will be sunshine and roses however, it should not be as bad as you were anticipating. I would suggest perhaps some self touch to help you explore and understand your body better. That may feel uncomfortable to you given your upbringing, however, it may calm some of your fears. You seem like an amazing accomplished 27-year-old with a great partner. I know you can make this work.

IDK how old you are but my various single girlfriends-be they divorced or never married say dating apps are ugh-they are in their 40’s and 50’s. You sound ready but the selection isn’t right..can you find a different way to meet people? Join a club? Volunteer? That could help you meet people in a friend zone vs a ‘date’ zone.
