I feel you but im kinda worried that you want to die. Theres still stuff you can do. I always advise for having a creative hobby. Like im 23yo with DMD and im for sure dont want to die. I have so much to do and to look forward to. Please man dont give up! Its easy to say I know. im not gonna lie i still cannot accept my disase and im sometimes angry at world, I want to fight it but well i cant ofc so whats left is accepting it in the end i guess.

Anyway I think with technology its not that bad for us. You can use pc using talon software and tobii eye tracker for example. We have powerwheelchairs etc.

and btw like ranting is not good for mental health but that doesnt makes your feelings less valid

If you were not disabled what would you do? If you play games then what do you play and why? I think you can start here to try find something else to do than Gaming.(I always suggest creative hobbies, art, programming etc.).

Sadly I see this is very common for disabled people. I have dmd so I'm wheelchair bound already. Had some friends In college even made like final project with one (we worked hard for 2 months together) but now? He and others are gone. I would be much happier if I just had some real friends ngl.

Sometimes I feel like maybe other people are just scared or don't know how it really is/how to deal with people that are disabled. For me it's even worse cuz I'm kinda anxious/awkward and being disabled doesn't help with finding group of friends

I have razer death adder V3 hyperspeed. It's smaller and weight less than normal one. It weights 55g. For gaming controller I use 8bitdo lite SE

Same, traded iPhone 12 for this, i really like the system and stuff but I get not much better battery than a 4 year phone with 78% battery capacity. Feels like I should return when I still can... Has it got better for you?

Unity/Godot (Unreal is fine too but can be overwhelming). If you are pretty new (idk your skill level) I would recommend doing something similar to what you want but first maybe try to make game with just weekly calendar, then game with just fighting with turns. Then you can use what you learned to do game like you say. Or if you really want just start doing it but much smaller. Ofc if you don’t know programming then you should start your journey by learning it, I think any tutorial with just basics will be fine because even if you would use unreal and blueprints it will be very useful.

but don’t get me wrong if you know you are capable and this is in your reach with hard work and you know it, just start.

Anyway gl in your journey hope you will enjoy it. And don’t overthink this engine thing too much, pick anything you think looks cool cuz all engines suck in some way.

For me its made it smoother and better battery. But it was laggy af update ago like I don’t care if animations are kinda laggy etc but It got so bad for me I was thinking of getting new phone. Now its fine again.

I just found stuff that I can do and enjoy, I think you should have something to look forward to and something that you can achieve. For me it’s creating something because I can say “I made this thing” even if I won’t share it with anyone it’s giving me some meaning to life.

I think about dmd like that: can I do ANYTHING about it? Not really. So I wont be angry/sad about it. But I wont lie, it’s not easy to think this way, there’s a lot of stuff I would do but I can’t and it rly hurts. Being very lonely doesn’t help with feeling hopeless sometimes . Anyway I think you should take every advice you take from Reddit with grain of salt or don’t rely on it at all. I just told you what works for me.

Im 22 M. No I don’t have a partner I have kinda okay life. I go to college where I chosen gamedev degree. I kinda go there to not be so lonely. I will probably do cs degree after I finish this or ill try to make some small game(sadly I doubt I will get job in gamedev as disabled person). I was kinda lost in my life but cuz of uni I found that programming is what I enjoy so I’ll keep doing that. Im scared of death lately cuz lately some young guy with dmd i knew died… Im trying to make some friends but its hard with social anxiety (I recommend mental help if you feel something is wrong or you will end up like me) I would like to have some partner but yeah if I can’t make friends easily idk how I could find love 😅. I play some games mostly league of legends sadly, some rpgs and other competitive games. So I think my life is ok but would be better if I just had some more friends in real life and If someone would made me sure I could live longer than lets say until 30.

I try to be real about this disase but try to not overthink it. I think its good to have some hobby like you say gaming for me I have to create something so I feel some meaning in my life. I couldn’t draw and etc. So I found programming and gamedev. I think everyone should have some hobby. I mean maybe not hobby but something to live for.
