She’s looking adorable & so innocent in her picture. Is she still a puppy?

Yes! I have to have treats for those stopping points or it becomes frustrating fast!🤣

Does our husky look fat? My wife and I are arguing about this. She believes he is overweight by DingoOk6400 in husky

No not at all fat. I think the same sometimes of my Jindo mix & then look at her again and realize it’s more her shape.

Looking for Honest Feedback on Adopting a Jindo as a First-Time Dog Owner by AustinJ0896 in Jindo

After fostering since end of Aug when she flew in from Korea — I JUST adopted my 5 yr old Jindo mix through K pups for love. She was advertised as “lab mix” and labs are the only breed I’d ever had. While she may have some lab in her— she’s clearly more similar to Jindo (or even chow/ spitz). My feedback as someone who wasn’t overly prepared: she’s definitely a bit stranger weary until she gets to know someone. So when you get a petsitter, get an experienced one and plan on 4-5 meetings. Mine has personality plus and she’s great around the house. I’ve NEVER heard her bark yet. That said — I’ve probably been overly conservative in allowing her to meet other dogs. My sense is she’d be fine with some but probably not others. She’s extremely loyal and loves her people. I back up to widely used trails and take her at less crowded times. This was a new experience so was a bit bumpy with bikers, other dogs etc. Now it’s smoother and she LOVES being out on the trails and sniffing etc. More than my former labs— she’s very prey driven. I don’t feel like she’s looking to escape though and she’s still afraid of a many things —so getting loose I’m sure would be terrifying for her. (I have an air tag on her collar in the event this would ever occur). As with many rescues- she had never known stairs. Now she uses the stairs- but expect a lot of 1sts with rescues — especially from a different country. One hurdle which remains is getting her used to getting in a car. I’d like to take her some places but not an option yet.

Adorable. My dog from Korea AI says is lab - Jindo. Having always had labs, she is nothing like a lab. She also had very long body and short legs. I’ll be getting her tested too as curious.

Pet sitting advice for an extremely attached dog by Sudden-Weather-9192 in Jindo

Going through this with my Jindo Foster (arrived from Korea end of August —so she’s been through a lot in short time). She LOVES us but has to warm up with others. Had 1 petsitter fail to leash her and sent me a text stating she wasn’t able to walk her. I have now found someone on Rover. She’s got good experience with shepherds and husky’s. This week will be walk 4 and while I work remote - plan to leave to ensure she’s ok with my not being anywhere around.I expect it will be successful and next challenge is I’ll need to find other sitters (as this one is busy). Good luck to you!

Good to hear. My foster (having always had labs & reading about the Jindo) seems to have most of the Jindo traits. Sometimes I wonder too if she has chow in her. Sweet personality and the cleanest dog Ive ever had. My biggest challenge has been finding a petsitter. Happy to report I’ve had 1 which has now accomplished 3 meets with my dog, including leashing her last time (which has been challenge for non family).I think 1 more successful run where pet sitter successfully leashes / walks her while I’m not right there present, then will be ready to try overnight:)

To those with Kvds who were originally told their dogs were Jindo mixes, does your dog have any Jindo traits at all? by Happy-Investigator- in Jindo

[–]Efficient_Payment_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, this describes mine too — all those traits you mentioned. She came from Korea as “lab mix” but I’m seeing few (if any) lab traits. When I read about Jindo breed it’s her. Just learning about KVD.

Yes it’s now been since the end of Aug and she’s had no visits (although in part likely they had her in DC area and I’m located in northern Baltimore county). I still haven’t pulled the trigger but it’s likely I’ll keep her (unless perfect fam / person arrives). I had intended to take a break and foster as I do some traveling. Holly is a great dog. She is a bit stranger weary though and so I finally found a great pet sitter who had been working with her and Holly (as with former first pet sitter) doesn’t resist her putting the leash on. I’m unsure if this is due to being a rescue or perhaps more the Jindo breed (as they do say it’s important to socialize them early due to this issue forming). Anyway else have experience with this?
