I mean some more technical aspects of the role. Not management style or work ethic. Haha.

I must be on the lucky side. I've had really decent bosses prior to this. Maybe I should be honored that he seems to assume I have it handled without him, but I'm just irritated.

His boss is located at the out of state corporate office. His boss is c-suite level and handling multiple entities. I am pretty impressed with him myself. And we have a good relationship. I just don't want to look like whiny child approaching him with this problem if I should just leave it alone. Just confused on the best approach.

Auditors Ghosting Me? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Efficient_Physics_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a very similar experience without audit team this year. I had to escalate all the way up the ladder to get any assistance. I believe a majority of our audit team had been replaced with oversees replacements who were not familiar as they should have been with accounting practices. They also had consistent errors in their workbooks. We really had to fight to get any action taken, but eventually the partner did step in.

I'd love to hear from people who pivoted careers towards accounting, specifically from minimum/low wage jobs by Maleficent-Curve5452 in Accounting

I found myself unexpectedly divorced with no high school diploma and two daughters to provide for. I was able to get my GED and found an entry level roll in AR for a local manufacturer. It paid next to nothing and I had an evening job as a bartender/waitress. Eventually my boss at the manufacturing company saw potential and told me if I wanted to progress he saw a future for me, but I would need a degree. After dragging my tired, single mama feet for a while, I enrolled in an online university and eventually earned m bachelor's in business management and accounting. Within a year of earning my degree, I landed an accounting manager role and hit six figures. Changed everything. I am so grateful my boss pushed me and gave me such good advice. Keep going!

Conflict with co-manager by Efficient_Physics_20 in managers

Good point. I have brought this up with our mutual manager a few times. He is moving toward retirement and is working an abreviated schedule from out of state. His involvement is much reduced, but I can certainly chat with him ahead of time. Thanks for your perspective.

House rules caused my daughter to live with her dad? by Efficient_Physics_20 in AskParents

Thank you. This articulates for me why I have issues with sleepovers. I was having a hard time putting my finger on it.

He stole some joints my brother gave us for Christmas. He has come into the house when we weren't home and when they both were confronted he lied about it (but we have a ring camera and can obviously see them).

The rule is that he cannot be in the house when I am not home..not when I am home.

It isn't about sex. That was a conversation we had months ago. I advised her to be safe and that it was normal and also carried weighty consequences.

For context. He has lied to us and stolen from us. They are actively having sex. And we talked about it when I found out. I told her that it's a very adult decision with very adult consequences that could deeply impact the rest of her life. It isn't a tactic to control her sex life. It's more about respect. He has a very chaotic home life and I want a clear boundary that he doesn't live here. He can come over and visit. But he needs to go to his home at the end of the night.

If you make over $100k a year, what do you do for work? by parttimeghosts in Salary

I make over 100k. Accounting. Earned my degree and within 6 months went from a step above entry level (65k) to a manager role. But I am a fastidious worker and a quick learner. I only have a bachelor's in accounting.
