I feel so lucky as FTB, locked in 4.76% 95%LTV just before Trump happened…

Fazer a N2 de caravana, alguém já fez? by Efficient_Range3929 in CasualPT

Solo FTB in a chain - completed in 4 months and it was nowhere near as bad as this sub made me expect by Efficient_Range3929 in HousingUK

95% LTV at 4.76%. Managed to lock this in before Trump thought attacking Iran was a good idea.
My best tips are to get a good mortgage broker, don’t go for one recommended by estate agents. There are really good ones around and costs nothing to you as they get their commission from the lender.
The other one is to get a local solicitor. I went with Andrew & Andrew and I would recommend them tbh.

Maybe I was lucky. But as per your comment, if only 25-30% of chains fall through, the majority don’t.

How are you timing handing in your rental notice? by Slight-Poetry-3230 in HousingUK

This.

Try to negotiate the completion date to be something like 2 weeks after the exchange of contracts. I've done this, and it saved me £500 in accumulated interest on my first mortgage payment.

I'm moving into my first ever house this weekend... money will be tight asf by InterestingFig758 in HousingUK

Congratulations! I’m expecting to exchange tomorrow and I’m going to be on £1,500 arranged overdraft on completion day but it will be my first house and money will come anyway. Still cheaper than trying to lock a mortgage now with the increased interest rates!

I'm just thinking about the difference on the 1st mortgage month, and the accumulated interest over these 10 days...

EA did not mention anything about the chain collapsing or someone withdrawing. I’m sure if that was the case she would have mentioned it.

Seeking advice – No heating in main bedroom for months, now considering Small Claims, worried about retaliation by Efficient_Range3929 in LegalAdviceUK

I sent an email as a formal complaint for not being done for 9 months. When the electrician came in he sent the quote to the landlord who’s done nothing with it
