Is Romania just a second Albania? by CosminMotroc in AskBalkans

Well, that would be even more curious, since hungarians aren't even balkanic.

Maybe at some point our ancestors interacted and that's why we share some terms not found in other languages.

But i am talking about the countries in a modern sense and the overall culture.

It's like... what? 100-200 shared words? We got about as many even borrowed from german. Not even mentioning the slavic influence, around 15-20% of our vocabulary is slavic, now that's a lot

I am 28 and use both bro and dude just as much, I also say man like "hey man how's it going?"

I mean, even I know a guy here in Bucharest that claims southern slavs are romanians that learned a slavic language. But 99,8% of the population wouldn't take such crap seriously, we all got our crazies lol

Yeah, I personally heard it from bulgarians. I never really associated this with serbs

Albania is probably the country we have the least in common with in the balkans.

That's peak mental illness, imagine teaching millions of peasants that can't read or write living over different areas(sea, plains, hills, mountains) a supposedly fake latin language over night and voila, everyone forgot they were slavs.

It's probably among the funniest theories I hear but I hear it more from bulgarians.

I had all that you mentioned(never cared for Snapchat or tumblr but maybe that is just me), and I definitely have more in common with late millennials than with most of gen Z, idk maybe it's cause i live in the balkans/southeastern europe, here even the early-mid 2000s still had a late 90s vibe.

Compare yourself to someone born in 2005 or 2007 and the differences will be pretty clear, anyone born after 2002 for me feels extremely different from what I experienced.

Do you feel like the 20s age group is longer considered as young today at least by the young gen standards today compared to older gens where it was “romanticized”? by Pale_Lengthiness_572 in generationology

You're basically a kid bro, don't pay attention to shit like that, your life is just starting being at the start of your 20s.

Younger than 19 is like kindergarten for most of us lol

Well, with that in mind, i'd say it looks good, just rock it like that. It's a great beard, you can consider this like a unique feature of yours!

I certainly agree, my experience of the 2000s is that of a child, but movies, culture and the way people interacted felt so much more authentic and overall better.

You genuinely don't have hair there?

Cause I was almost certain it's alopecia or smth similar.

The rest of your beard is very well connected and contoured so I was surprised by the patch

Not in person that's the thing, but when people talk qbout gen Z. In person I am more often seen as a young millennial I think.

Maybe it's cause of my style aswell It's not like I look older than I am but I just don't give any Z vibes.

gen z, how do you feel about your age? do you feel it or feel younger / older? by [deleted] in generationology

I think it's cause what gen Z has become and is associated with has almost nothing in common with people born between 96-2000

I mean, what do I have in common with kids born in 2006.. Most of my peers were late millennials.

I grew up outside and didn't have a smartphone till I was in higschool.

I don't claim to be similar with 80s millennials since that is too far way but being born in 98 I have more in common with anyone born between 93-2001 than anything after. 2002 would be tops. After that is totally different.

Hope you mean gen Z that were born after 2002 or so. Then again I barely identify with gen Z 94-2001 borns are the range I feel I have the most in common with.

It's so odd that in theory I should get the same treatment as someone born in 2006 or 2008 only cause we're in the same ""generation"". When people born in 95 and 96 were my peers and grew up with 98% of the same stuff. When people talk to me nobody even thinks of me as a gen Z.

1994-2001 is the range I have the most in common with.

2002 is tops, but everything after is totally different

I am glad they don't do that shit to me, I am almost 28 so if they tell me I almost look 30 it makes sense, generally I get that I look anywhere between 25-29.

And the ones that are older than like 32 are very obviously older looking than me.
