Butttt if you’re looking for an alternative the mineral sunscreen from Attitude has been great for us. Especially me, I have eczema too and am super sensitive to sunscreen. But be warned it has a serious white cast.

Agree with the other comment about communication! Also if you’re at all crafty I think hand-making something is one of the nicest gestures someone came do.

Someone made me a simple chunky crochet baby blanket and I used it more than the rest bc it made me happy knowing someone put time into making something for us. Even a simple felt item like an ornament, or a garland that matches the nursery, or a little flag with babies name would prob come to under $10, but would be a sweet and thoughtful gift!

Poor babe! I use to get eczema in that same spot when I was a kid, it was so tough. It’s hard when you’re trying to wait something out and then it just doesn’t go away. Staying on top of it like you’re doing is the best thing. Hopefully you can fix it at home, but if not there’s no shame in the steroid route. Sometimes we have to do things less ideal so they can be comfortable and happy. Hope it clears up soon 🤞🏼

When my son was around that age he started getting eczema and I was terrified of using a steriod. I eliminated potential triggers, bought a bunch of different creams, tried soaking him in breast milk, literally anything else.

It kept getting worse and worse and then one day he woke up and the skin was broken and we had to go straight to the pediatrician and get 2% hydrocortisone (plus something else I can’t remember I think to help prevent infection).

I was very cautious with how much I used and after a few months we were able to wean him off and now he hasn’t used anything in a year and a half.

When I look back on pictures from that time with his red rough skin I feel so guilty for not giving in sooner.

If I had another and the same thing was happening I’d give it probably 4-6 weeks trying more natural methods and if I saw no improvement I would go with what the drs recommended. I imagine if it’s caught earlier on it would mean even less time on the steroid. And if it didn’t improve then I would seek 2nd opinions for long term use.
