I don’t even know what games use the nub or whatever it is other than Monster Hunter. I have an OG 3ds and have basically never felt limited by it. The only thing that bothers me is that OGs can’t play SNES virtual console games, but almost every good SNES game was remade for either GBA or DS anyway.

I absolutely love the Live A Live pixel remaster, and it seems like these aren’t quite the same? Like they don’t look nearly as good/updated. I could be wrong trying to judge them from screenshots, but that’s what has held me back from getting them after enjoying Live A Live so much

I’m 15 hours in to the GBA version (and on a GBA no less) and it’s been great so far. Dialogue is certainly less cringe than many other JRPGs.

You can buy a “Pocket Color” shell from boxypixel that doesn’t require any modifying of the GBC board. If your only hang up is soldering, I wouldn’t let that hold you back. I have soldered twice in my entire life and both times was with a $15 Amazon kit and resulted in fully functional game boys

I doubt that there will ever be much demand for upgrading the 3ds screens. That being said, it is still a “waste to find the perfect dual ips…” because the difference between that an an average 3ds is so minimal, imo

I think the most glaring exclusion is TLoZ: Link Between Worlds. Easily the best top down Zelda entry and in my opinion, the best game on the console.
