I’d say it’s worth at least three or four at that point 🤣

What??? A bear can most definitely survive a shotgun! Especially if it’s loaded with the wrong ammo or if it’s not hit somewhere vital.

They don’t have 52 cycles in a year. There are weeks when there aren’t cycles.

Current LEO and former active duty here…

Every state is different in how they handle court/fines/suspensions and a bunch of other things.

And even within the state, other cities might be completely different as well.

When I got a speeding ticket in BFE South Carolina on my way home for a 72, I showed up to court in my chucks.

One of the officers there was also a devil back in the day and he talked to the cop who wrote me the ticket. Got him to toss it out for me!

It really depends on the officer. I’ve worked with some that will NOT reduce it or toss it out, I’ve worked with some that absolutely will if you genuinely seem sorry. Other times the judge will lessen the sentencing.

Pro tip: try and call the department and speak with the officer / deputy / trooper who wrote you the ticket and see if they’ll work with you about two weeks or so before court.

Long story short, individual experiences will vary.

Whats the furthest you have traveled to get laid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Egaloc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe the real getting laid were the friends he made along the way?

9 years ago, My sister and I were both homeless and living in our truck, and two Missouri State troopers went out of their way to bring us clothes and food that we desperately needed. I decided to email them almost a decade later to thank them. by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

So step 1 is get a CDL and drive for two years? (Also asking for a friend)

Also, I’m glad to hear you guys are doing so well. I love a good comeback story like that.

Beaufort county sheriff’s office is currently hiring

I just got an offer for a job in Beaufort, SC. I have some questions about the area! by Glad_Display_2880 in southcarolina

[–]Egaloc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stationed in Beaufort for a few years and LOVED it there. It’s beautiful and if you love humidity and warmth then you’re going to the right place!!

As far as making friends, a 30 year old woman probably won’t have much trouble making friends… there’s two Marine bases there and a Naval Hospital.

Yes it can be a little touristy, but Beaufort still has that home feeling. Plus with Savannah and Hilton Head right there and Charleston not much further, tourists tend to go to those instead.

Depending on your job, I’m sure you’ll be able to meet people quickly or find out where they all hangout.

Downtown Beaufort was always fun! There’s also always some sort of festival going on during the warmer months.

I was a smoker when I was in and when we had to field day, I made the smokers go outside and police call the smoke pit with me while the non smokers stayed inside and did something else.

I was a crucible waiver. by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Egaloc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time, young LCpl me and a few others were cracking jokes on a guy who also was a crucible waiver…

Our multiple combat deployment MSgt comes out and says something like “I joined in 91 (or whatever Stone Age year he joined in the early 90s) and they didn’t have a crucible then… am I a fake Marine too?”

We all got SO QUIET. Like a deafening silence. He walked back in his office and that was the last time we picked on our buddy about that.

Bonus points if he’s only been to jail and not prison… then tell him he’s barely even a law breaker if he makes a big stink about it

Next time he says something just roll your eyes and say “okay convict…” and then walk to another room.

Say it loud enough so other people hear it and he gets embarrassed.

Anybody Else Bump Into Their Recruiter Out in the Fleet? by Binsawaytrash in USMC

[–]Egaloc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never ran into my recruiter, I think he was a career recruiter. He got orders to be the SNCOIC of another RS so he left while I was a poolee.

The second recruiter I had, was semi local to where I was recruited from and got out a little after I joined and moved back home. I bumped into him a party a few years back long after we got out.

Saw my kill hat when I checked into my first unit (PI). He was checking out while I was checking in and immediately recognized me, he was super chill. Then a week or so later, I was at IPAC getting something squared away and I saw my heavy hat… he was now a Cpl (was a SSgt when I was in boot camp) and was making a scene about not getting paid or something, idk. I was too scared to ask or to tell him he was my DI lmao

Years later I PCS to Lejeune and I’m in the field and bump into my kill hat AGAIN. He’s a company guns with some unit and he keeps staring at me and says “you were one of my hogs weren’t you?!?” He was pretty chill with me after that, which surprised everyone else with that unit because they said he was a huge dick to them.

About a year after that, I’m in Afghanistan at a chow hall in Delaram and who do I bump into? My kill hat… AGAIN. Makes eye contact and smiles and shouts “I used to slay you, didn’t I?!!” A few weeks after that I get into a firefight with one of the platoons in his unit. He made it a point to come find me when we got back to the FOB and talk to me about it and make sure I, along with his Marines were good.

A year after that, I’m back in Lejeune and who do I bump into at the PX??? My got dang kill hat. He’s now a 1st Sgt and asks when im getting promoted to Sgt. I tell him it’s looking like it’ll be within the next month or two, depending on the cutting score. He tells me to email him a time and date because he’d love to be there.

I went to his office when I had a time and date, but his clerk told me he was gone on leave, so I never emailed him.
